I'd prefer a kid who's desperate to play for us rather than the gobshites who can't even be arsed to train with us. Good on him for wanting to do his job and I wish him the best of luck. Good for you, I'd rather get out of the mess we're in instead of sending apprentices out to do a pros job. We're not in a position to let players learn their trade on the pitch, unfortunatly. But presumably happy to have.players on the pitch who have got us into this state, a few of these have been around for a while now , Ince for one , is Verlinden more of a risk than a player who plays one in five decent games , we have a team full of them, which is a big part of the mess we are stuck in .

Apparently Verlinden isn't going to play for Bolton, because Keith Hill has never heard of him . So if the regulars do well, Thibo could be spending more time on the bench or not even on it. Sounds familiar? I don't know all the machinations of transfer policies, how it came to be that he ended up in Bolton, but if I were him, I'd like to think my new club actually wanted me as a player to improve the fortunes of the club AND the player, not just to make up numbers... Dont worry I'm sure the class that should make him a scfc first team regular will shine through in training 😊 Cracking support for one of our younger players. Stoke-hating cretin.

What a load of rubbish NJ is twaddling. If he wanted Verlinden to stay he could make it happen, unless of course, even the youngsters have so little respect for their manager. Same with Tyrese. I'm sure he wouldn't let his dad gabble on social media if he didn't want his 'plight' to get out there. What a mess. It would appear NJ is having great difficulty stamping any kind of authority. That won't work but still the powers that be dither.

Great to see him doing so well and getting lots of game time
Similarities to Hughes management at the moment regarding youngsters
In his last full season here, MH selected his more experienced players until we were mathematically safe from relegation
With the pressure to get some points on the board, NJ is following a similar route
I do hope that Verlinden returns to us, in January if he has a realistic chance of regular first team football
Our youngsters should be the future, if Campbell and Collins can be patient and stay involved ( even not as regular starters), then we should be giving them enough opportunities to want to be here
However, In the immediate future, I can see Jones or any other manager who is here, sticking with mainly experienced players to try and turn things round

Of course he is doing well at Bolton, no surprise to anyone as his quality has been there for all to see (except our manager apparently). I can be patient with NJ on most things but like his three predecessors he is myopic with wide players, his failure to rate and utilise them is my biggest source of frustration with the management. Verlinden should be in our starting 11, not fucking boltons.

Football tactics are very fashion driven, wingers will come back in at some point.

Quote: "Football tactics are very fashion driven, wingers will come back in at some point."
If only we can hang on until then! Wait until most of our rivals have dispensed with full backs altogether and then unleash the full wing potential of our 30 year old kiddies. For our talented starlets like Verlinden and Jarvis a time will come.
It'll be reminiscent of the start of the 1970's when the referees started to clamp down on the so called cloggers and paved the way for the use of skill, as personified by the return of George Eastham.

No,left wing against Oxford. They played with 2 wingers right you are Our wingers are Verlinden, Ince & McLean 442: Badou & Etebo in the middle with Verlinden & Ince out wide ,Vokes (who would thrive imho from some actual supply in the air) & Campbell left back still an issue & some will be concerned about being overrun in midfield but for me that's probably as good a side as we could put out?

I've always thought Verlinden would be a natural in the number 10 role.
It's why i found the Powell and Duffy signings slightly depressing. We had the perfect fit for it, yet decided to get more people on the pay role who essentially, have done nothing.

Is that reason he should be in the starting line up in the division above every week? No is it fuck. This loan move until january will do him good, especially if he is playing well in it. The idea to loaning him out to a division below is for him to do well and progress so in future it benefits us.
