The transfer window is still open for another week across Europe, until Sept 2nd and we (were) clearly hoping to find homes for several of our players who are not involved in future plans. We know who they are but not where they might be going and things have gone strangely quiet on that front with no discussion or rumour being evident this week. I trust that this issue is still being strongly addressed behind the scenes and there might soon be news that these individuals have found an opportunity to progress their careers elswehere. But there is only this next week to go and the deafening silence on any movement is very concerning, and I am sure that most of us are hoping for reassurance that the outward transfers expected this Summer are eventually happening.

Probably but its not easy, big wages won't help and most of them are also pretty crap, I can't see those wanting them being able to afford it even with us paying a chunk of their wages, the players won't be pushing for a move as they're probably on the best contract they'll ever have, all in all its a bit of a mess.

www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/stoke-city-transfers-imbula-wimmer-3229437Based on this from a few days ago, we're not exactly fighting off interest in the bomb squad with a stick. I was expecting someone to take Diouf with him only having 1 year left making some kind of financial deal more likely, but haven't see one link. Can't imagine there'a a queue for Bauer (3 more years) on his wages - and certainly not Imbula (2 more) or Wimmer (3 more) Not even a whiff of interest in Ngoy (3 more) either. Must be wages that are the problem in his case too.

Bruno, Badou and Diouf would all improve our starting eleven and with his head right, so would Imbula. Even Bauer is a better wing back than what we have. If they don’t go it might be time to look at the whole squad including Verlinden rather than the British and Irish squad Jones seems to prefer.

No thanks, Bruno has been a donkey since we signed him permanently and even before that he wasn't all that great, I think we're better sticking to the younger lads we have, Imbula clearly can't be bothered and the same goes for Diouf given his last outing he had for us, Bauer is that good as a wing back Lambert tried him anywhere but, lets not forget how poor these players have been, its easy to do I know given the way results have gone for us but there's a reason other teams aren't interested.

Bloody hell, that's up to 7 players(counting BMI and Badou) that we are trying to move on from long contracts and high wages! with our CEO reportedly on holiday.

I think it would now be almost impossible to bring any of them back into the squad.......can you imagine the reaction and moral of the others?

Of course he has. Even he must know the contract he's sat on now, will be the last decent one he'll ever get. He's bone idle and I'm pretty sure, has psychological issues It'll be interesting to see what we do with this lot, if they don't move in the remainder of the window. I certainly wouldn't be giving them the 'season off' with full pay.

I think Imbula needs to learn real good, real fast that he isn't getting a move to anyone half decent. And it's alright for him, because he can quite happily sit his fucking arse on his mega Stoke City contract.

Maybe its just because they've become laughably shit football players whilst at Stoke City ?
or, they were laughably shit when we signed them ?
nobody wants them
not even the Turks
Stoke city owners and board seemingly, dont care either
( either baling out or, Executives still on or going on holiday whilst the window is still open apparently)
(just keep shelling out those direct debits fellas )
and they (The players in question) can keep laughing all the way to the bank
Meanwhile, the ground continues to empty

(unless you play Bauer)

Can't help thinking it might actually help Jack Butland's mental state (and consequently his form) if he could get a half-season loan to a decent European club. Get him out of the firing line for a few months ....

Take Badou, if he was at say Bournemouth and had just come back as a AFCON finalist then somebody would be sniffing round him for more than the fee we paid and he would stand a good chance of getting higher wages than he is on now. But no, him and his cretinous agent touted him back out to Turkey last year and he is now back with his tail between his legs and not too many suitors by the looks of it.

If that cheeses you off, how do you think it affects those players having to put in a shift in on a Wednesday night in Preston? Especially when those sat in their luxury homes or enjoying a night out could be on more money! Is it small wonder Nathan Jones is struggling to motivate players?

Why people are getting on Batth's back here amazes me! I think he overall has been our best player so far. He would certainly be my first man on the team sheet after our first 4 games. I really wish all the others could perform at his level!
