He’s obviously handed the reigns over years ago and look where that’s got us.
I heard from a very reliable ex player a number of years ago what the plans for the future were and, well.
The biggest problem being that myself included we pretty much believe what we listen to from the likes of Rowett and now this incompetent village idiot Jones hoping that the next match will be the turning point and put up with it.
4/24 is patience beyond belief with awful, awful football, little if any knowledge of this division from Jones.
It’s been said before that these are all Jones signings, sorry but I’m not buying this, there’s obviously a contributing factor still meddling behind the scenes as most of Jones signings don’t fit into his team and most of them are now benched.
Overall this is a shocking example of ineptness of the highest order from the owners and we deserve exactly what we’re getting.

I don't think so to be honest. PC looked absolutely beaten and bewildered on the TV tonight. I don't think that he has a clue what to do next. It is very sad. I mean that! I wonder if he thought that he would die seeing his team in the Prem.
To be losing millions of pounds will hurt him, he is a business man after all. I honestly think that the situation that we are in is hurting him more than any amount of money could.

Coates did indeed say he didn't know what the fuss is about. But the way it's continually dragged up is non sensical and does nobody any good.

Mr Coates stepped back some tome ago , a new broom or brooms are running the club , picking managers , running the process , presumably what’s pissing him off is those he trusted have destroyed the legacy , Hence the reluctance to change , he will know better than anyone when the rot set in and what caused it ,doing something about it much more difficult than sacking another manager

I think our Marketing/PR department will have to wheel Father Coates out some time next week to do the media rounds and offer up a 'steadier' to the fan base if we don't beat Leeds.
The usual kind of thing, he knows the drill:
1.Results haven't matched performances. 2.He feels our pain and is as frustrated as us. 3.We invested in a whole new team in the summer when we can't sell the old one. 4.Jack is a fine young man and will come good. 5.We still believe in Nath for the same reasons we hired him. 6.They say the darkest hour comes right before the dawn. 7.Hang in there folks.
Something like that anyway.

We went for rowett when many on here were touting him. We then went for jones instead of the usual names, as he'd had back to back promotions, playing exciting attacking football and out scoring nearly every team in europe.
Bloody hell.

When we got relegated I assumed that a strategy was put in place to return back there just as any business would do aiming for success. I expect there have been and will continue to be reviews as to where we are with that initial strategy and how the performance to date stacks against it.
I suppose we won’t know how long the club are going to give it, or what any budget or contingencies are, but they should be looking at it and deciding if it’s going to plan. For all we know they could have accounted for this worst case scenario, or they could be very pissed off at what has gone wrong....then maybe heads should roll, and I don’t necessarily think it should be a Jones as a scapegoat.
As another poster has said, there is something rotten the core in this club and it needs to be cut out.

PC looked absolutely beaten and bewildered Nah, he was smiling. Probably thinking the same as the rest of us being a supporter, i.e. this is nothing short of shocking. The additional sting coming from the fact that instead of paying £40 or whatever for the privilege he has sunk £100M plus to experience it..

Right now I feel our so called "stars" and our biggest "assets" are the players letting us down. I would mention Butland and Allen as our biggest culprits here, and Etebo didn't exactly cover himself in glory last night either. Have they lost their hunger or are their minds elsewhere?

I don't think we could get anybody better than the Coates family, despite what is happening now. I've heard this so many times over the last 3 years. It sounds like a wife who has been beaten by her husband so many times she is making excuses not to leave him because she doesnt have the energy or will power. Sadly, although I do think 3 years ago we could have transitioned to a more ambitious owner who could have had us pushing that top half of the Prem table, now we are totally untouchable, who would want to buy into this shower and this financial situation the club has stupidly contracted themselves to.

The thing is most teams get promoted from the championship with cheap players and managers, so clearly not the problem. It's who they are seems to be the problem at the moment.

Peter Coates loves SCFC and is very ambitious for us. However, age catches up with us all. Isn’t it likely he will have been allowing others to take a bigger role over recent years. I think he is the last person we should be blaming.
