In 8 months we have, overall, been worse. He promised to buy players that were better than what we had and he hasn't - they are not even playing. I don't really understand how its justifiable. In his system we can have only one of Ince, Duffy or Powell playing. You can't change every game, you need some continuity. The squad he's built is entirely unbalanced. You just have to look at the list. It doesn't even make sense. On the RB situation. Yeah, we needed a back up - our highest spend over the Summer should not have been on a very average right back. I agree we need some consistency but we also need to see who's capable, you can only learn so much in pre-season, with the three you mention one isn't match fit and the other has been injured, I don't think Ince was ever meant to be the first choice number 10, it was always going to take a few games to figure it out and up front we very nearly have and that was after one game now its time to restructure the midfield, once we have the right balance I think we'll do well but he does need to find some bollocks somewhere and drop the names, they clearly aren't working. I know they are injured, it wasn't more that the fact that he is hell bent on a system that only ever allows one of those three to play is beyond me.

I don't think its that big of a problem tbh, you want at least two with one as a back up and Ince offers us the option to change the formation if needs be, I think those three are the least of our worries.

He hasn’t blamed himself. Unless you are counting the maybe I was wrong thinking we had no bad eggs and suddenly we do...which is very much along the lines of the old “it’s my fault because I’ve been too trusting” woe is me “blaming himself” trotted out by by Mr Rowett... When asked if there was anything wrong with say, his formation, Jones said his formation was fine, there was nothing wrong with it, it worked for 8 whole minutes! Even the interviewer didn’t quite know what to say and the pundits in the studio didn’t either. I wasn't on about just this interview, he's right about the 8 mins to a point as SCFC92 says we were gaining momentum and to concede so early in games it completely fucks you over, the game plan pretty much goes out of the window and its been down to the players every time, show me a goal we have conceded this season that was well worked and a bit of great play and wasn't a fault of the players. Thats the point, they aren;t well worked because one ball over the top of an overcommited side sees them overload our defence courtesy of the gaping chasm in front of them which is down to the system the manager is insisting on playing. if players aren't at ease they will do things wrong, its clear they aren't happy, even during this supposedly magical period we spent much of it hoofing the ball forward to gregory to force a throw in or gave it to Ince to beat 4 players before having a shot. Thats not considered, measured play.

Thats not considered, measured play. One ball over the top won't matter if the players do their job right, stay with runners and don't let the ball bounce, the second goal against Preston could have easily been dealt with with a simple header, thats not the formation thats the players, the same goes for the first and third goal too. We were crap against Preston on the whole and I agree we hoofed it way too much, it was a poor performance all round but in the other games we've mixed it up quite well.

Don't get me wrong I don't see it as a problem but for me it's a complete waste to be playing a system that only allows one of them to play and bizarre recruitment.
