If there is a problem in the dressing-room, it obviously needs to be sorted ASAP, and clearly NJ does not seem capable of doing it. If the players are not playing for him, then maybe they would if a respected figure was to take the helm. This person needs to b someone who knows the club, has respect from the senior players and most importantly has the respect of the fans. Players of the recent past would have filled the bill, even if temporarily, players like SJW, and Crouch, Whelan and Adam for example. As these are not available for various reasons, who else is there? Step up, Ryan Shawcross!, Just a thought, like! d.

The more I think about it I canβt see past pulis. I know certain fans hate him for whatever reason but he would get the club back on track. He would discipline the shit lazy arsed players and would set the club going again like last time

Look how brilliantly it's working for Solksjaer at Utd, or Lampard at Chelsea. Hardly harmed Guardiola, Pochettino or Klopp has it? None of them ever even played in this country, let alone knew their clubs. "Knowing the club" makes 0 difference and is a complete myth that it is a crucial characteristic to have.

Before we were in so much shit I would have said a ex player like crouch or whelan. But now isnβt the time to give it to someone like that. I like most people wanted him to leave when he did but like the majority just want to see our clubs fortune turn around and think he is the best candidate although a lot on here hate him.

He is not the best candidate at all, why did Boro ship him out, he is long past his best days football has moved on

I think itβs still too early to be contemplating a change and there isnβt it a single name in this entire thread that Iβd embrace unreservedly as manager. If Manchester United or similar come in for our best youngster heβs likely going to be tempted away regardless. Iβm not yet prepared to completely wash away the good aspects of the performance against Derby or even the chances created against Charlton. There is something to work with here and I think we have to give it a little longer. He's got 5 games to turn it around. Expectations will be 9 points minimum. I personally feel that we need to give him until mid October. So he's gone from getting 5 games to him being sacked today. Bullshit alert.

As the word "emergency" suggests it's unforseen meaning the people involved could be anywhere in the world. I'm pretty sure like most of us he has Skype or some version of Skype on his laptop for video conferencing.....

Surely any meeting to discuss Jones would be just Peter and Jon as the decision makers?

Yeah it must be really hard for Peter and John to get together for an emergency meeting. Maybe they could all use Skype. Deirdre could supply the tea and coffee I suppose.

Would now be a time to go after Steve Bould? Effectively demoted in June to U23βa after a re-structuring. Must surely fancy a chance of stepping out on his own?

I would re sign Whelan and Ric just to kick arse in the dressing room and to bring back some of the stoke ethos
