I know he's not everyone's favourite on here but I do think he's beginning to look a very decent player. He is certainly our most creative midfield player at the moment and does get himself into decent goal scoring positions. Upset a few with 'shushingate' last season and at times seems difficult to warm to but he's winning me over.

Yeah me too.
Never rated him but his performances so far have been fairly solid. Hopefully that can continue.

Very good player. I was chuffed when we signed him last season; he had a great first game against Swansea but struggled after. The shushing of the crowd wasn't exactly endearing but he's a superb player to have around the squad because he's a bit of a utility man but very good in each position. I'd like to see him and Nigerian Pete given a go as our to 'wide midfielders'.

He's fine. He always has been fine apart from the odd performance. Whether he is exactly want we need to get promoted I'm not so sure, but he's never been the terrible player some make out. Has a knack for scoring goals which is handy.

Not his biggest fan but he is looking pretty good.
Would replace him with a ‘left footed’ Etebo if we could find one.

He still likes to have a whinge at a team mate when he’s the one whose misplaced the pass, and I wish he’d cut that out. But that corner for Lindsay’s goal was excellent and I thought he played well. Nice to see him put himself about a bit in a couple of challenges too. Hope his injury yesterday wasn’t serious.

He's an intelligent player (football wise), though not always the best!!!
However, he did have a good game yesterday, up until his injury!!!

He's never going to be the best player in our team, but he'll never be the worst either.
He's also got that welcome nack of chipping in with a goal and not being completely shit at taking set pieces either.

Hated him both as a player and a person last season.
This season playing great and ‘god willing’ no shushing as of yet and for the rest of the season

He's an arsehole for shushing and I'll never like him for that reason. Had a pretty decent game yesterday though. I'd sort of like to see him at left-back.

Maybe shushing was not his finest moment, but after getting slagged by all the FIFA manager experts on here and the boo boys in the crowd, it was probably his way of saying ‘shove it right up your arse’. That’s what the rest of us love to in our workplace when we get the chance.

I did enjoy his little attempted shithousery with Gregory trying to take the free kick amidst the Ince cofuffle.

Miles better than Joe Allen. You're not a fan, are you, LP? 😜 Don’t get me wrong he is obviously a good player, he has done things in the game that you wouldn’t be able to achieve without that quality but for me he doesn’t bring much to the table in our side. Clucas is far tidier on the ball for me and can also drive past a player. Etebo is a dynamic midfielder, power, pace and the ability to take us up the pitch with his dribbling ability. Woods is the anchor, controls the tempo, dictates our play, always available and most importantly he is disciplined in his work. That only leaves the number 10 position, he isn’t a number 10, certainly not ahead of Incey, Powell and Duffy. Allen can’t dribble past a player, out muscle the opposition, hold a position, dictate play, he switches off whilst marking his man and also tracking that man.. For me this season he has been caught hiding from the ball so we haven’t been able to play through the diamond, which is where our overload is. I just don’t see the point in him? Those are my thoughts at least😂

He keeps it simple and is generally OK.
Never one to take hold of a game and win it though.
Hes a bit meeeeeh for me. Not terrible but not great either.

Thought he was very lazy first half, seemed to get more energy as the game went on.

I did enjoy his little attempted shithousery with Gregory trying to take the free kick amidst the Ince cofuffle. Yes I was screaming at him to take it, isn't one of the new rules a player can take a quick free kick and the ref deals with red/yellow cards later?

He will end up at left back no doubt. The manager wont drop Allen, Etebo will come in and the maths will do the rest.

He’s not going to drop McClean after going on so much about, and undoubtedly putting a lot of work in, making him a left back. Nor do I think should he if McClean plays like yesterday’s second half...

I don't think him and Allen work together. Etebo partnering either of them will work much better.
