I usually go on Expedia, then whichever airline appears cheapest go on their own site.

Dial a Flight can be pretty good for long haul (haven't tried for Europe) and they'll usually match on line prices, sometimes nice to have a number in case things go tits up.

Go on to Skyscanner to search, then if the two flights are with the same company, go on to their own website or call them to see if they can lower it further.
Got return flights to Vietnam for £500 using air China after searching on Skyscanner where they were £560

When it comes to booking flights, I compare prices on a few cheap flight sites like SkyScanner, Expedia, Kayak etc. I suggest that you check out Expedia firstly. It is fine for international flights. I’ve been able to save money occasionally using them. Never had a problem with ther service.

Ryanair app is also very good although you do have to act quickly for the £10 flights but they do exist. I use Skyscanner and Ryanair apps both very good. For Duisburg I paid £39 return from Man to Cologne. Also £35 return to Palermo it can be done just keep looking...
As for hotels I use Hotels.com but it's always good to make contact direct to the hotel I did that and got £150 off my chosen hotel and room choice for Thailand next month and it was only £500 to start with for 2 weeks. Hotels.com give you a free night with every ten booked with them I've had a lot of free nights over the last couple of years plus you can "give" them to family etc which is good.
