No Verlinden and Campbell is a disappointment for me, particularly Verlinden.

Trying 3 at the back and 2 holders, I guess to stop the concession of sloppy goals. It does put a lot of emphasis on Duffy and Clucas to create for, and support, the lone striker.

Nathan Jones there, hating youth by making an 18 year old captain.

Crosses from the flanks tonight & clucas to push on to support duffy who can play off vokes. Predicted multiple changes and can see the reasoning in it

Can't make sense of that.
Vokes lone striker, Duffy at the tip of the diamond. An extra centreback as well as a defensive midfielder, who will occupy the same space.
Or is a flat three midfield with Duffy up top?

Looks very defensive to me but can't blame him really our defence is a shambles our creativity will probably be funnelled through Duffy which could be a predictable move stifled tactically by Wigan. Don't know what to expect if I'm honest.

Three games into the season and we are resting players ? ..... when we haven’t even established a line up we can rely on. Seems odd.

Predicted multiple changes and can see the reasoning in it I wanted 3 CBs or 2 holders, but am surprised to see both at the same time! Duffy and the wing backs have to play blinders. With 3 CBs surely you only need one holder, so maybe Cousins will hold with Woods right, Clucas left.

That's a head scratcher alright. Will be interesting to see how it goes; looks quite experimental! C'mon lads, put in a good performance. Not sure there's a lot of goals in that team (which means we'll probably go and stick 5 in the back of the net )

Maybe Clucas is left wing back, McClean up front with Vokes, and Duffy playing just behind them? Still a bit diamondy

Midfield isn’t up to much is it? It looks much better to me, and that's even including Jordan Cousins. Any midfield without Joe Allen will be up to more than one with him in.

That’s what I thought...... It looks on paper very similar to Sheff Utds formation, albeit they had Duffy behind the two front men, but it looks like Vokes will be up there on his lonesome. If the centrebacks start trying overlaps he’s legit doing a Wilder.

I think it's more a 3421 myself (with Clucas and Duffy the '2'). Will be interesting to see just how far forward Duffy sits. Looks more like a preseason friendly lineup with CCV and Duffy not having played much but making their first starts. Intrigued to say the least!
