If you've ever watched Utopia (anti-natalist plot to gradually sterilise 95% of the world) there's a cracking scene in which one of the Agents working for the anti-natalist tells an environmentalist with her child the direct cost of having a child and how much damage it will do. This just reminds me of that strongly tbh.
It's a short-sighted solution, what happens to society with fewer younger people and a massively ageing population if children simply weren't born, who would produce food, sanitation, power etc...there's certainly elements that have merit, particularly regarding over-population but saying it would solve most things is a bit bizarre to me.
