.. what would be the upset? I know, in "theory" it would be the Argies winning after their recent run of poor results, but with the French you just never know which side will turn up do you ? NZ v SA tomorrow as well - should be a cracker. SA are worth a punt.

.... good win for the Wallabies. They knew Fiji would come out flying then tire later in the game. Need to improve the kicking percentages though

Barring a calamity this France v Argentina game highlights perfectly why we (England) will beat them both.
France, although extremely dangerous lack the intensity to last 60 minutes let alone 80 and that's not good enough against the better sides.
Argentina imo are the poorer of the two teams even if they do end up coming back to beat France but have disciplinary issues and lack a cutting edge in attack against a fit and well drilled defence. They're only getting through now because France are falling apart.

Wow, South Africa were all over New Zeland and out of nowhere the Kiwis go 14 points clear. Definitely laying down a marker here.

People saying that NZ aren’t quite as sharp as normal don’t have a clue. Well, they haven't been as good this year as they were 3/4 years ago but doesn't mean they still aren't a great side.

Maybe you should've bet on SA at half time?! the odds would've been favourable then I'm sure.

I'm away on my hols till Wednesday so haven't seen any of the games but it sounds like some good games today. Aussies win as expected, France scrape through, and Kiwis make a statement to the rest of the teams.
Tomorrow's games, should be straightforward wins for Italy to beat Namibia, Ireland to beat Scotland, and of course England to comfortably beat Tonga - Tonga lost 92-7 v NZ in their final warm up game !

Frustrating to the extreme, is how I'd describe this England performance.

I haven't seen the game but Eddie Jones doesn't seem at all pleased with our performance does he ?
Hopefully it'll serve as a kick up the backside before we meet any better teams.
Good win for Ireland over the Scots, and a "plucky" defeat for Namibia v Italy.

He said after the match it was like playing Stoke City! During the Pulis era? Within the context of the conversation I'd say so. He was using us as an example of how stop start the play was today, the Delap years I imagine.

Mate of mines out their. Weird, you can drink on the streets, but not smoke. They have strange little enclosures that you have to smoke in. If they think that drinking is less antisocial than smoking, they have never seen a Brit after a gallon.

I see Georgia had a go today but the bloody Welsh eventually won 43-14.
No real games of note now till England play again on Thursday.

Good win today for Samoa, beating Russia 34-9
Fiji v Uruguay on Wednesday before England v USA on Thursday. Eddie's still picked a strong team whilst giving a few players a rest in view of the 4 days since the Tonga game.

Good win today for Samoa, beating Russia 34-9 Fiji v Uruguay on Wednesday before England v USA on Thursday. Eddie's still picked a strong team whilst giving a few players a rest in view of the 4 days since the Tonga game. It's a second choice side really other than Billy and Curry isn't it?!.. I mean, we should still win comfortably though. Looking forward to seeing Cokanisinga in action.

Wasn't going to watch Uruguay vs Fiji but at half time we're on course for a major shock. Uruguay 24-12 up at half time and Fiji look all over the place.. interesting second half awaits.

Wow, Fiji 27-30 Uruguay FT... That's an unbelievable upset when you compare the teams and where they play their club rugby.
Although a great result for the underdog and Uruguay, I'm a little disappointed Fiji haven't won as I was hoping they'd give Wales a game which I don't think will happen now.

45-5 in the end. Why the hell didn't we just kick the ball out after the 80 minutes was up ? USA get consolation try in the 81st minute - Eddie won't be happy with that.

Stand outs for me were Kruis and Joseph and then Genge and Sinkler from the bench. Can't say anyone else impressed me enough to force their way into the team for Argentina. Ford was great but started against Tonga so didn't include him.
Thought Cokanisinga and the other winger were quiet considering they scored 3 tries between them.
Get Mako Vunipola and Nowell back in contention then we won't be far off.
M. Vunipola George Sinkler Kruis Itoje Underhill Curry B. Vunipola Youngs Ford May Farrell Tuilagi Nowell Daly
Everyone fit, that's my team.
