Not seen anything slating him so presumably everyone was quite pleased with his debut?

Loves a diagonal over the top ball, reminiscent of higgy.

He looks very decent and to be honest, the player i'm most worried about in that back four is Danny Batth, who I think has had a very slow start to the season.

Think he's a very astute signing and possibly Jones best along with Powell

I thought Collins was far better on the opening game but got dropped. I can’t see Lindsay getting the same treatment however.

Looked alright. Even if Collins is good maybe it's best keeping the same for now and have faith that the hungriest best player will ultimately get their chance and make whatever position theirs. Keep the same for now on the ground Batth did ok and if Collins gets a chance and takes it then fair enough. Need a stable team, with competition for places and NJ is supposed to manage that process but what he did yesterday taking off someone doing well was a bit scary given that it's not the first time he's done with the end result being the same. Same rule for the manager, that there should be someone else ready if he's keeps messing up.

For his first competitive game at this level I was impressed by him, particularly his composure on the ball.
Needs time to settle with Batth as a partnership but I honestly reckon at 23 we could have a very decent prospect on our hands especially after he's had half a season to settle in to the team and the area.

Even though he was covering for Smith for chunks of the game? And had people passing through space left by Allen? Batth isn’t the issue. To the OP, Lindsay looks decent and might have the potential to be very good for us. Certainly wants to play rather than hoof it. He was tested at times yesterday and isn’t the complete article yet I suspect. Good player though who I think will improve quite a bit.

What is this obsession with finding THE one issue with us on this messageboard? When things go wrong it is down to a lot of issues, not THE issue. I think he's had a slow start to the season, that's all.

I’m not looking for the issue by the way, I was simply defending Batth who seems to be getting a bit of stick. Even though the way I see it he has been stretched by covering for others.

Fine. 6/10. No problems with this signing as one of 4. But would be behind Collins for me after last seaosn.

I think the one thing we need to look at with Batth is the fact we're now playing with an open back four, with two wing backs. At Wolves he predominantly played in a back three and also for large parts of last year he was in Jones' back 3 diamond, and also alongside Shawcross. They both seemed to make each other play better when together. Shawcross is just a huge miss regardless, especially given how fit he looked. It will be interesting to see how CCV is used when he's up to speed.

Bart is the one who needs changing out imo. I'm sick of seeing him defending the near post from our left - he's moving into the other CB's space a lot.
Lindsay looks good, really good. Found a lot of the ball and used it well. Good tackle on him too.

Seemed fine to me.
Had to cover for the full backs who both look slow to settle.

He did very well but I'm sure he is only playing because NJ likes him and he's shafting those that should be playing 🙄 it's just not fair.....😭

If you've conceded 3 goals despite not coming under much pressure, as a centre back you've not played well

If you've conceded 3 goals despite not coming under much pressure, as a centre back you've not played well Even when your keeper drops two clangers. Behave. He played well, just doesn’t suit many people’s agenda’s as they want Collins playing despite his errors the week before.

Lindsay is a real talent and if any CB should be replaced, the focus should be on Batth. Collins and CCV should be given a chance on the right side or even, for now, go to 3 CBs to look to stop giving away silly goals.

Looked decent and in my eyes was better than Collins was in the first game; as you'd expect for an older player with more experience.
That said he was part of a backline which conceded 3 goals against a team that never looked like threatening. Whilst I'd consider Butland largely at fault for two of those goals, Lindsay must have been part of the problem.

Its just my view that as a defender, you haven't played well if you concede goals, especially if the other team didn't put pressure on. Clangers or not, defending is a collective effort. They let in 3, whether he showed nice touches or not, he can't be happy with it

Why do I always get a picture in my head of Alec Lindsay looking helpless facing a Luton Town penalty every time I here his name mentioned in commentary.

Batth really seems off the pace and lacks leadership qualities currently required for a fight

On yesterday’s performance if CCV is going to play then it seems that Baath is at risk.
