Despite my initial frustration at the result I thought we looked a lot better yesterday against similar level opposition to last week. The question is will NJ make loads of changes again for the visit of Derby. Unlike last week we were the better side for most of the game and with a bit of Luck we could and should have taken home 3 points. Hopefully Etebo will be back next week. But for the fact I don’t have much confidence in our backup keepers Jack would be gone. I think he’s going to continue with the diamond however I’m not sure it incorporates our best players to there strengths. I’d go with
.......................Butland..................... Smith........Batth.......Lindsey...Ward ...............Etebo............Clucas........ .....Ince.............Powell............Duffy .........................Gregory..................
NJ will go with
........................Butland..................... Smith........Batth..Lindsey....McClean ..........................Allen........................ .............Etebo................Clucas......... .........................Powell....................... .............Hogan...............Gregory.......

He's got to drop Butland regardless and drop him entirely from the squad. You just have to hope his replacement, be it Federici or Davies steps up and does their job. If he drops Butland it could send (potentially good) shockwaves through the dressing room and provide a kick up the arse that Butland needs, especially if we get a win.
It could be this managers (albeit very different in style) Vince Overson moment.
If it doesn't work then it pretty much sends the manager down the road, which depending on who you listen to, could be the making of us.
In short, I don't think this is now the time for half measures. It's spinal tap time.

I actually do fancy us next week.
Not sure why but I do.
I’d drop butland though.
Bring Edwards back in.
Drop Allen.

Etebo has to come in, I’m not sure about what’s happening with Ndiaye but if he stays and he’s fit and wanting play then I’d play him too. But it’s a huge IF.

I looked at the leeds line up yesterday. Apart from Hernandez they have no top flight quality. Its a rubbish league. I hate our squad but in terms of individuals we have far more quality than most other squads. It should be top 6 at least. What we don't have is balance. We don't have pace, we don't have a sitting midfielder etc...

No but I don’t think NJ rates him and he’d be the one to sacrifice next week if Etebos fit. In relation to 4231 I think we need a more physical presence. I’m not his biggest fan but I’m a big believer that if someone has a good game they should keep their place. Can see it being Clucas to left back to accommodate Etebo.

I wouldn't have a problem with either Clucas or ward playing left back, but NJ's inexplicable boner for McClean means he'll probably be back in. If that's the case I retract my prediction about us winning.

This is the type of game Pulis would win. I'm just using him as an example of a manager who managed to get a win when he really needed it, I don't want him back.
Whatever NJ does, he has to have a plan to beat this derby side and if that means ditching his diamond, he has to do it.
We must win this game.

And we have already lost to teams who will probably be below all the teams so far featured on Sky.

For the most part - certainly the first 65 mins or so yesterday - we looked better than Forest in either of their televised games, and Boro and Luton. I thought West Brom and Leeds looked better though. Against QPR though we looked way off any of the teams shown on TV.

I wonder if there’s a chance he’ll go back to using the 3-5-2 version of the diamond we saw at the end of last season? We looked much more solid and more of a threat going forward.

Its a big turn around in players. Some just arriving and going straight in. I didn't see it yesterday, but if we played well, we just have to keep getting behind them to turn the tide.
