Does anyone else think Lee Gregory is the footballer we thought we were getting when we paid 9 mil?
Because if you had to pick which one was the free agent and which one was 9 mil...

Gregory was a nuisance all game, but let’s not forget that he did miss a very good chance & at this level you quite simply have to score (or atleast hit the target) when you are 7 yards out.

Gregory was superb, that miss excepted. I could understand Hogans sub as he did well to do an hour being short of fitness but the other subs were totally not needed. Woods was doing fine. We need to keep that front 3 buzzing, keep mixing it up Greggers Hogan and Campbell. Leave Vokes where he is for now.

Just watched the extended highlights. It's clear he needs to be more clinical.
He had 3-4 chances in that first half I'm expecting my striker to hit on target that he hopelessly hit over the bar.

I don’t understand why this is an issue. We are in a better place for having the both of them in our squad. Gregory was superb against Charlton but there will be games this season in which we need to utilise Vokes’ strengths and visa versa. We have a strong squad which is not something you could have said in any of the last three seasons to be honest.

Sat with a Wigan mate (I’m exiled in St. Helens) about five rows from the pitch. McClean took some stick but to be fair to him just smiled and was ok with the banter, it was clear he could hear every word. As for vokes people have said he’s lost weight? No chance he’s same shape as last year and not only missed a few chances (not easy ones) but was beaten in the air by mulgrew countless times.Apart from first five minutes Wigan never threatened. A solid performance but vokes (hmmmm) not £9m

For me, Sam should not be played alone up top and I fully agree with the earlier posts with him having to be more clinical. But he does get a lot of good hard work done, always combative in the air, creating space and chances for others hence why I think he should be starting against Derby on Saturday with Gregs playing beside him up top. I'd love it if Vokes could give that Keogh fella a right nightmare at our place. And a black eye.

james Mclean takes far to much stick on here but he puts 100 per cent in might not be the greatest but you cannot fault is effort. for me i wood swap vokes with hogan for saturday. and cousins for etebo. also even jacks form is not good i would bring him back in to.

Vokes needs to put himself about more, for the size of the bloke, he's too easy to defend against, in a Stoke shirt anyway.

I think Vokes is an excellent foil for a mobile pacy goalscorer (Campbell or Hogan)

If you watch the reaction to the goal the players (even Collins) go and celebrate with Vokes. I’ve got no idea why people are insisting it was Collins goal when he says himself he didn’t touch the ball.

Worrying that Vokes is getting a bad rap, I'll be surprised if we will get a penny of our 9 million back if we have better options and want to sell.
'Bish-bosh you've spent all me dosh' Denise Coates must be thinking after this latest example of largesse from the 'boys'!

Vokes was poor last night! He should of been desperate to put a performance in to get back in the team,he didnt. Never won a header all night apart from the goal hes claiming, does not react quick enough to any second balls. He never bust a gut get in the box just ambled about all night. McClean was visibly annoyed at him a few times when he put good balls down the channel and Vokes was no where near them.
