That's disappointing to hear/read, Dave. Hes got real stamina/endurance issues. The lad is a goal threat though. He shoots early, with power and so long as it's not the warm up, he seems to hit the target. I tried to say this on Saturday but got shouted at. 😀

At the moment Campbell's best role is definitely as an impact sub in the last 20 mins.....

I don’t really care if Campbell isn’t ready for 90 mins yet. He looks like a real threat in front of goal. He just needs to build up his game time and we need him here. One touch and a shot on target from one of our strikers - not seen that for a while. Get off his back.

I dont understand how a young lad like Campbell can't last 90 minutes due to fitness issues???

I dont understand how a young lad like Campbell can't last 90 minutes due to fitness issues??? Lasting 90 minutes in a high intensity sport, intensified by a system that our manager plays takes conditioning and an incredible amount of fitness that he hasn't quite got yet. It's what Jones means by "putting work into them" Tyrese work is his durability over 90 minutes. The more sub appearances and training he does with us, the longer he will be able to last. He is definitely one for the future if he knuckles down. An exceptional shot on him, it's exciting.

I understand what you're saying and I'd 100% agree with you if all the other players were taking time to get up to the fitness that Jones requires off them. He is an exciting prospect though I can't argue with that.

Showing all the signs of a player who gets on the end of things which is 100% what we need. He just needs to work the keeper harder than the woodwork. I hope he doesn't rue these misses in 6 games time. We all know how goals breed confidence.

Saw his stats for the charlton game. Pretty standard Hogan.
Barely touches the ball and rarely makes passes to team mates.
I worry for you boys if you're relying on him to shoot you up the table.
On a side note, it seems we dodged a huge £25 million bullet with Butland. What's happened to him?

Certainly an exciting signing. Looks very different to the other " strikers " we have.

You guys see him more then me, but the last two games he has made a mistake. Don't get me wrong, i really wanted him but he doesn't seem to be at the level he was a couple of years ago

Signing Heaton isn't a fuck up but neither is not signing Butland dodging a bullet, either would be fine for Villa. Bloody hell, they're several shades of grey that are ignored on this board.

No offence mate but that’s like saying you didn’t fuck up by not signing Andy Robertson as you’ve signed Taggart and saved a fortune Villa’s call but we’ll see

Maybe dodging a bullet is a bit harsh. For me that was more to do with the price and we need to stay up this year so it could have been a bit of a gamble with Butlands form looking to head in the wrong direction. To bring it back on topic, there's a villa fan podcast called my old man, on there they play a game called the Scott Hogan touch count, which is exactly what it says. The fact its even a thing gives you some idea of what to expect from Hogan. And his debut seemed to live up to it.

The concept of a reasonable price really shouldn’t register with you at this point.

Hogan looks quick and incisive, very unlucky not to score and always in a good position in the box.

I would'nt bother the player is playing in a pair here with fast attacking football, totally different to what bruce was doing with him. Horses for courses and bruce spunked £12 m on a player not suited to his set up, so they dont rate him. He's allready hit the framework twice in 2 games for us, we're talking inches away from 2 goals in 2 games from him. He's getting in the right areas to score goals Let's not forget how he did at brentford in this very division

Players can show different abilities in different systems and if Hogan continues as he does for us I'm happy!

Good luck to pieters, not overly disappointed he isn't still here myself tbh
