Really looking forward to it now (even though it is still the cricket season and we shouldn't be playing for another couple of weeks). If you can't be optimistic before the first game of the season I don't know when you can be. All the "lucky" clothes are laid out, the flask has been cleaned, the tickets are in the car and I am just off for my traditional pre-match dinner. Oh well. Even by Stoke's standards, the optimism being extinguished after 7 minutes is pretty special. Perhaps I should have seen the omens when the Stone to Longton road was closed by an accident and gone home instead of taking a detour via Moddershall. It was not all bad. - The pitch looked beautiful
- I had a very nice steak for my dinner
- It was probably the warmest I have ever been at the stadium.
Roll on next weekend! Well, ii guess you were right. It’s still cricket season and we won’t be playing for a couple more weeks,

As we where walking towards our seats in botheren end Mr Coats was arriving at the ground ,walking past I asked him How will the team do this season He said we have quite a few new players and we will soon be wiser "after watching them " Having watched that performance I not sure how many more games I will go down ,because little seems to have changed ,Skill level is poor, effort only in short spells.little drive and commitment Butland in goal another costly mistake

As it was past midnight here in Oz, I have to admit that when we went 0-1 behind after just a few minutes, I posted my "F*CK!!" comment, then went to bed.
Talk about deja vu!!

Not sure to call samaritans quite yet because we have lost 1 in a 46 game season, things are evidently wrong and you can’t see any change, or Bill Shankleys assessment is true It’s life or death , or maybe we should hold off and see where we are after at least 6 games , where unless you were smart you relied on the Sunday newspapers for the first time giving us league standings

Well, that was a shocker of a game. I am looking for a few positives from the match. The only positive that i can think of is that Nathan Jones will realise that there is still a huge amount of work to be done on the squad. I know that things will improve " the only way is up" So they say. Can not see us getting anything at Charlton but things will improve. I have got a lot if faith in Nathan Jones and he will get us to the playoffs this season. He can not afford to let negativity manifest itself again as it did last season.
