I remember at different times in the 80s and 90s there was a program shop on the corner of Lime Street and Boothen Old Road and then again in a wooden hut opposite the Stoke Stand (was a ticket shop for a while too)
Which location came first? Pretty sure it was the wooden hut?
Also, who was the program seller bloke with longish hair and a big bushy beard? Proper bear, like. Always had a nice gurn.

Which Black Lion we talking Joe? As Telford said. Bottom of Broad St up Hanley. But not quite in Hanley.

As far as I can remember the shop in Lime Street was originally the commercial department's offices and was opened when Dudley Kernick joined the club in the early seventies. I'm not quite sure when it became the programme shop, but I remember them selling The Oatcake for us in our very early days.

Can someone remind me when the pink panther 'rage' happened in regard to the start of the Oatcake?

I think they first appeared for the cup game against Barnsley in January 1989, which was our sixth issue. They were at their peak at that point. I found a deflated one at that game. Then blew it up. After we lost 1-2 at Lester a year later I burnt it.

Probably the most embarrassed I’ve been as a Stoke fan 🤣

It’s quite strange to reminisce the old ground with all the different buildings. I miss the burger vans selling the BOILED burgers. Totally revolting. You never needed laxatives back then. Just wanted to clear up from page 1 that “ Werrington” was the most bone idle five a side player I’ve played with. However F..h back then was an Eaton Park red.

They were on display at the home game too. I remember BBC Midlands News did a piece on it when showing the goals. Someone on here has a profile photo of Berry and Kamara holding one in front of the Boothen.

I for one got into that replay with a full match ticket

Who let people in without checking tickets may have saved a life or two. That night was just a few months before Hillsborough and with the same police force in charge.
