Blackadder 1 ok 2 excellent 3 meh 4 brilliant The Scrooge one v good as a one off I can't take to the first series, and it's the one that gets repeated the least too.

I remember Tony Robinson talking about this years ago, his character was to be called Bald Rick, if they've kept the same idea . I hope Tim McInerney is in it. Apparently one of the US Networks offered them a fortune to make an American Civil War version but Rowan Atkinson turned them down.

Impossible to even rate, since it's the best within moving pictures I've ever seen.

The final episode of 4 is some of the best comedy drama ever made.
It’s a shame lord flashheart won’t be in it

My preference was series 2 as the best, closely followed by 4, then 3, with 1 as my least liked.
I also liked the Christmas one where he started off good and ended up like Scrooge.
I hope it does come back !

I like the Red Dwarf AA advert in fairness, it's probably funnier than anything from the last three series.

Blackadder 1 ok 2 excellent 3 meh 4 brilliant The Scrooge one v good as a one off I love series 3. The Johnson episode is brilliant. Agreed. Hugh Laurie and Atkinson were a good combination. The first series was the worst (although the episode with the Spanish infanta was hilarious) it took some time to get going and it really only took off once Ben Elton joined the writing team for series 2.

I hope not.
Blackadder Goes Forth was awesome with that incredible, poignant closing scene in the final episode. Possibly the best comedy series ever.
Some things have a perfect ending (like Alasdair Cook's final test innings). And that is where they should end.

So best leave it at 4 IMO.

In Sweden we don't separate them, as part I, II, III and IV. But I get it.
To me Blackadder is the best series / film / whatever ever produced. My favourite in all time within Moving pictures. Episode 1 and 2 I can watch over and over again.
Blackadder I: 6/5: Outstanding! Unfair to even rate. Blackadder II: 4/5: Very good! Blackadder III: 5/5: Excellent! Blackadder IV: 3/5: Ok ...
Worst episode is the last one.
So I'm afraid it goes downhill from here, in Blackadder V - but hopefully not.
Hopefully Rowan Atkinson writes or co-writes them with Richard Curtis, as he did in Blackadder I, before Ben Elton appeared instead.
Rowan Atkinson once was asked how he could act like that, being so utterly bored in the series, especially in series II-IV, when he replied "it was no challenge, since I didn't think it was that funny, but for some reason people were amused".

Brilliant, I’d always suspected that it wasn’t acting, as he was essentially just playing his smug self(A bit like Nigel Havers & Hugh Grant) Which brings into question his MrBean...

uni lecturer ?, my wife is one, and she is about as funny as a heavy cold. But it could be great, if they avoid pandering to the PC brigade and really go for it. ...and my box set will suddenly be a series short
