Was never going to be a crowd pleaser as some saw him a replacement for the godlike huth. Very awkward to watch as he constantly ran like he had a stone in his shoe What was it with the jazz hands, he played like he was a badly assembled string puppet.

It is a statement of the obvious that they are 2 different things. But one is a reflection of the other. Or at least it should be. For example, a meal at Nando's might be decent. In fact it might be a plausible option if there is no table at Le Manoir Aux Quatr'Saisons. And if you are very hungry. But it would be madness to pay Le Manoir prices for a Nando's meal. That is effectively what we did. Even if Pochettino thought during those 15 games that Wimmer was Raymond Blanc quality, by the time he bowled up with us he self-evidently wasn't. In fact basing an £18m decision on 15 games over two years was at best a reckless punt. Games he played CB for Tottenham 23 January 201623 Crystal Palace 1–3 Tottenham Hotspur 2 February 201624 Norwich City 0–3 Tottenham Hotspur 6 February 201625 Tottenham Hotspur 1–0 Watford 14 February 201626 Manchester City 1–2 Tottenham Hotspur 28 February 201627 Tottenham Hotspur 2–1 Swansea City 2 March 201628 West Ham United 1–0 Tottenham Hotspur 5 March 201629 Tottenham Hotspur 2–2 Arsenal 13 March 201630 Aston Villa 0–2 Tottenham Hotspur 20 March 201631 Tottenham Hotspur 3–0 AFC Bournemouth 2 April 201632 Liverpool 1–1 Tottenham Hotspurs Nov 2016 Arsenal 1 -1 Spurs Nov 2016 Chelsea 2-1 Spurs Jan 2017 Watford 1-4 Spurs Jan 2017 Man City 2-2 Spurs (0-0 when Wimmer came off injured) I think we are agreed that this doesn't make a £18m player........however it is quite remarkable to imagine that any CB who played in these games with these results could have been the same person who we saw at Stoke. Pochettino trusted him for some very big games and Spurs only conceded 10 goals in 15 games when he was on the pitch. Blimey. You've been up all night cutting and pasting the relevant results. Excellent work! I was wrong. It wasn't a reckless punt on our behalf. It was much worse. We spent £18m (plus wages) on a player who had not kicked a PL ball in about 8 months. It was borderline criminal negligence.

I'm talking about when you were jumping up and down like a chimp about him and he was actually performing well. Where he is now is of no consequence, we need different types of players now. I'm assuming he is no longer wanted as he clearly has mental health issues and has only played 11 games in the last 3 years. H

H Interesting take on it, I thought there were issues with his attitude and behaviour within the club, saw plenty of evidence on the pitch that he was prone to bitch rage., blaming everyone else for the mistakes he made, I think it was the Sunderland game when he went into full brat meltdown.

If someone can point me to another footballer that has had or is suffering such a drastic and immediate downturn in their career to the point they ended up playing for a local futsal team then I'd love to read about it Berahino You beat me to it

Unfortunately he just couldn't defend a direct ball over the top. Got absolutely mauled think it was blackburn in the cup, correct me if I'm wrong but 2 balls straight over left him trying to run like he was in bubblegum.

Wolly wasn't the problem that day, it was Hughes deciding to play a high line against Josh King. Shawcross looked equally as exposed.

First thing scouts look for in the modern game is the player an athlete, well he failed on the basic element required whoever scouted him needs shooting, the factor in his less than impressive loan period and we still signed him on a permanent deal
