I don't think that Farage is particularly bothered but I think that he is taking the opportunity to point out the hypocrisy and bias of those who believe that they always hold the moral high ground at all times on all issues and are entitled to set the only agenda, their agenda. So you're not bothered about the hypocrisy of a man who has previously bemoaned people being offended by humour now getting offended when people like him are the butt of the joke? Do you not think there's a difference between making a joke/comment with no physical repercussions and one which could be interpreted by some as free reign to throw things at people? Has Farage made the news for throwing stuff? Me and my friends call each other all the names under the sun (banter) but if one of them lobbed a pint at me I wouldn't be too happy. Only an idiot or someone being obtuse would fail to see the difference between the two.

Of course he is...He was born in Longton. Really my Dad was born in Gomes mill, nowt wrong with Longton duck. Longton tbf has changed a lot since I used to visit it weekly in the 80's loads of pubs have closed and it always seems to be dark even when the weather is sunny, it has become very run down in some areas though I believe the Park is still a beautiful space in fact I need to get back and visit it soon to visit my gran and granddads grave it has been to long. Longton was awesome in the 80's, I worked at Sampson Bridgewoods, prior to it being called Churchill, met loads of awesome people, but sadly parts of Longton have given it a bad name in general. But yes, Mo is British, as he is Longton born and bred, not sure which part, as it has spread somewhat over the years.

Nigel Farage said if Brexit wasn’t delivered he’d don khaki, grab a rifle and go to the front line. Jo Brand asked why people bother throwing milkshakes at far right politicians when battery acid is available. Farage is a politician. Job description: when you say something, people are supposed to take you seriously. Brand is a comedian. Job description: when you say something, people are not supposed to take you seriously. It’s Farage who has the questions to answer. End of argument It's a metaphor for going into battle again. Non-specific and not targetted at anyone. Should the Salvation Army and Onward Christian Soldiers be banned to?

Personally I couldn't give a flying fuck about what she or anybody else says.
Totally bored with the obsession with what people have said.
None of it makes any difference.

I thought that a joke was something funny, suggesting throwing acid at politicians you don't agree with potentially disfiguring /maiming them isn't !, it's not a joke just a sick comment from a deranged or dangerous minded person who has already stated it was not a mistake so she meant it as she said it, at least it's a hate crime at worst incitement to violence either way she needs arresting and the BBC need to answer for their lack of action in this case.

Was a story that the McCanns took offence to a Frankie Boyle joke but what he said was actually factual. They apparently took legal advice ( can't believe they tried to sue someone) about the Things Not to say at a dinner party segment on Mock The Week. Frankie Boyle said something along the lines of- If I'm here and you're here....who's looking after Madeleine .
I think Frankie Boyle is often a step ahead

Longton has changed as have the people living there, the place is slowly sliding into a cess pit in line with many areas across the midlands and North West it is so sad, There was a regeneration project in the 90's I think so the decline is pretty startling, the shopping arcade is disgusting full of down and out's, druggies, drunks and scum bags, the outlying areas going up to Meir in particular are unrecognisable from when I was a child.

I think most of the posters in this thread are in agreement on that. In her sick mind she appears to believe this half arsed apology is enough to take the heat off her, I really hope that the authorities take her to task as they should but I doubt they will have the back bone to do it.

For Farage to be affronted, a man whose whole career is based on provocative rhetoric, dog whistle Politics, invoking a bygone imperialist age of Britain's militaristic past, takes the fucking biscuit.
The bloke is a grade A cunt and a hypocritical one at that.

Can't wait until this one issue, vacuous, right wing Capitalist dog disappears into the obscurity his 'talents' deserve.

Apparently he may not have actually lost, aside from the fact that he was not the Brexit candidate, it would appear that this may have been a rotten Peterborough, I await the police investigation with baited breath oh well maybe not, it would be a pisser if they find wrong doing especially if Labour activist Tariq Mahmood is implicated again in fraudulent activity I believe he has previous for this sort of crime.

Also remember seeing the Fall Half-Man Half-Biscuit &, Sigue Sigue Sputnik at Shellys in the 1980s before it became the Laserdome about 1990. My grandparents lived down Goms Mill too. Loved Longton in those days. What a shit tip it's turned into.
