On Saturday Liverpool beat Borussia Dortmund 3-2 in a Veteran's game at the Hong Kong Stadium in front of 21.000 people.
Lambert played in midfield. He got a yellow card when he stopped Dirk Cuyt, but according to reports he played well in general. Above all fine ball distribution apparently. Can we sign him?😜
Ex-Stoke player Salif Diao scored twice, and Fowler got the winner from the penalty spot ten minutes from time.

Isn't that more than he ever scored for us in the whole time here? I remember him scoring against Portsmouth.

The single worst player I have ever seen, an honour that will not be topped.
I’ve not seen the majority of the shite we used to have by virtue of still swimming around in my dads ball sack.

Wasn't he the original SCFC "shusher" away at Pompey?

He stayed here a bit too long but actually after he was given his last contract that he didn't deserve, he played well.

Nothing wrong with Salif - granted his last 2 seasons here his legs went and was a walking yellow card, but did a lot of the donkey work in midfield and was better than some gave him credit for. Never going to be remembered as a legend, but hardly the worst player we've had either.

He was great on his loan spell here in 06/07, but never hit those heights again when he came her permanently.
That said, his first goal in 8 years to win away at Pompey with 10 men was a classic moment.

Always a good banker in your ‘first yellow card’ bet.

Always a good banker in your ‘first yellow card’ bet. I still hold the belief that he played better once booked. Especially the loan period once booked he looked like he had body swapped with Der Kaiser himself in some games 🤷♂️

To nominate Salif as the worst Stoke player you’ve ever seen, just begs the question, Just How Many Stoke Games have you Actually Witnessed. Personally, I can think of at least 30 off the top of my head who weren’t even fit to lace his boots.

You're welcome to your opinion, and you're welcome to share it, but if others feel that your opinion is a load of bollocks then you cant very well get salty if they express their opinion about your opinion. I also think you're talking out of your arse. Even in Salif's limited ability he was still light years ahead of Amdy Faye and Maurice Edu to name but a couple within your lifetime.

Important player. Were it not for he and Lee Hendrie stopping us from being shit in 06/07, we wouldn't have been in a position to be promoted in 07/08.
Of course, he then went on to stay about three years too long, but still.

Salif might not have been the most technical player in the world, but we have had way worse players. And he never threw a fit when not starting.
Mackey mate, I'll have to politely disagree with you on this one. Admittedly he was a bit of a crab in midfield at times, but an important part of 06/07. One of those players who can certainly divide opinion.
I'm surprised he rejected our coaching offer really, his game time was never going to increase, and he was an experienced pro with a sound knowledge of the game who would have come in handy.
