Good pen by Pickford.
Before he took it I was thinking where the fuck are the strikers stepping up to the plate...

Good pen by Pickford. Before he took it I was thinking where the fuck are the strikers stepping up to the plate... I’d say in the last 5 years, Pickford is one of the top 5 in technique for striking a ball I’ve seen at Sunderland. That either shows how good Pickford is at distribution or how bad the majority of Sunderland players have been. Bit of both I’d say.

Good pen by Pickford. Before he took it I was thinking where the fuck are the strikers stepping up to the plate... I agree. I was shocked to see Pickford taking one and risking injury, but he struck the ball excellently. But where are the strikers? A CB took the first peno., and very well too. All I can assume is that the strikers are spineless cowards.

Obviously they wanted to get lads who weren't used to taking penalties a chance to experience it outside of a high pressured tournament game.

What’s your stance on asexual genderless basset hounds? Saw them supporting World of Twist in the early 90s. Great band.

Fucking rubbish game so far. If last season's players were the least likeable stoke team in memory - I'd say this squad are probably the most dislikable England squad that I can remember History gets rewritten. One of the things last year was the current England squad is likeable and approachable. Unlike many of their predecessors.

The biggest positives from the last couple of games is that hopefully that is the end of Stones and Walker in the England back 4, two players that always let us down when it counts. They let us down in the world cup semi, and chucked away the game the other night.
Also,we won a penalty shoot out, good practice for the inevitable shoot out next sunmer

Alexander-Arnold will be a regular from now on and hopefully Gomez can regain his starting place with Liverpool next season, that'll help things no end. The big issue Southgate has to sort out is the midfield and who he wants in there alongside Henderson, who has to play if fit for me. Foden ideally needs to be the one who gets drafted in asap and have a look at Maddison also.

England are broadly likeable, i concur...
But please God - Dier and Ali..... can anyone remember the last good game they played?
I thought Southgate might pick on form and not reputation, or simply because they play for a big club. But what the hell has Ali done now for ever, and Dier even more so? Ali only scored 5 and created 3 last year for Spurs, so is hardly ripping up trees, but has now only scored 3 in 37 for England from a largely AM position. That's shite. Sometimes stats lie - in his case, I'd say they flatter him.
