The club is rubbish we need to get rid of these players! The club is rubbish we are getting rid of these players! Id rather we were selling the players we need to get rid of or loaning them out with clubs paying some of their wages for 12 months rather than wasting millions on paying off peoples contracts. Just think how much extra money Bauer, Wimmer & Ndiaye have made this summer with big hefty signing on fees from their new clubs as they were all free agents They needed rooting out unfortunately.

I don’t understand how the player sees this move as an improvement on playing for us in the Championship? Bewildering I imagine there are advantages to living in Thessaloniki over Stoke. That doesn't explain his Saudi move though, which I can only assume was all about the £££ Yes probably slightly better than his two up two down in Fegg Hayes but regardless this clearly isn’t a step up in footballing terms and I can’t see how that Greek club can match his considerable wages either?

I wonder who put his name forward as a transfer target, who completed the due diligence and who signed him? He was one of our better players in the relegation scrap season though. He is a good footballer, but certainly didn't look motivated after our relegation. So he was value for money? Transfer/agent/signing on fee and of course wages

But no one was willing to pay the wages they were on so they were obviously going to sit on their contracts till the end because that's the type of characters they are. So this was the only way to be able to get rid of them at a price that a buying club was prepared to pay, and so the players didn't lose any money either. We've cut our losses and it's cheaper than having to pay their wages all season while they rot in the reserves all season basically. Best we could do. The problem lies with the decision to buy these players a few years ago and put them on such long contracts. Not with the desperation deals we've had to cut now to get rid of them.

They finished 2nd in the league (3rd after the split like the jocks league does) and are in the Europa League this season, a step up from us.

I love how fans on here and Twitter know the ins and outs of what we’ve allegedly paid players to leave.
Wimmer cancelled his own contract and is on record as saying he gave up the money owed by stoke in order to get his move to Rapid Vienna. Why are people refusing to believe what he’s on record as saying in order to peddle their agendas.
Badou, has not been on our wage since January and was never going to be again regardless of what happened with the Saudi club. There’s an article on the sentinel about it and earlier in this thread. Why would we suddenly pay a player millions to leave when he’s no longer on our wage bill, it makes no sense😂.

Wimmer I agree with you on. This one to me seems fishy and always has done. Would love to the exact goings on and how it’s structured. Because it seems totally illogical to me.
