Should be the sort of player we go for.
Sell Allen and Ndiaye and invest some of the money on this fella.

I really doubt that anyone will put the money down for Allen though. Soon to be 30, we'd want £12m-£15m? Maybe more? And he's on 50k+. Just can't see a stampede. Etebo , as much as he and his agent will try and stir the pot, again can't really see anyone making us an unturndownable offer. And Clucas will compete for one of those slots too.
He also still seems inclined to wait for Ndiaye.
So hard to see anything happening in midfield for a while yet, if at all (apart from the holding role and No.10)?

Don't agree with that, think there would be quite a few Prem teams interested in Joe.

Don't agree with that, think there would be quite a few Prem teams interested in Joe. Don't think he'd really contribute at Wolves or Leicester (despite the Rodgers link), Can't 100% rule out Leicester for that reason though? I can see maybe Burnley (he's right up Dyche's street, although not sure they'd pay his wages?) or Villa (at a push, but maybe Smith would even go for Woods ahead of him?) Brighton seem too analytics-driven to go that high for a player of his cost and age. Newcastle won't go that high unless the takeover happens quickly. Sheff U and Norwich couldn't afford him. Bournemouth have got better, but just about possible? Palace? Unlikely Southampton? Doubtful. Their manager will be looking at Europe Watford? Can't see it at the cost. They are great at getting better value from all over the world West Ham? Were linked last year, so maybe.

I can see there being interest in Joe Allen from a few clubs but doubt we'd get more than 10 million.

What a bollocks article.
I’m monitoring Jen Selter’s situation but it doesn’t mean anything is going to happen, that’s got all the inquisitive journalism of a half-arsed hungover wank.
I’d swap him for Joe Allen in a heartbeat.

Hope he's better than the last midfield bloke we bought from Brentford.
We got absolutely rinsed on that one, and that's being kind.
They must still be laughing at Griffin Park.

Ryan Woods was very good value at £6m - the majority of clubs at this level were after him and the fact that it hasn’t worked out this season playing for us doesn’t mean that he should be written off as a player and he won’t be, other clubs will still see good value there.

"Monitoring the situation" again ? I remember about 2015 we were "monitoring" someone at Celtic named Virgil Van Dijk and we somehow let that one go.

From Wikipedia;
Style of play
Sawyers has a languid style of play, which can make him appear lazy at times despite statistics indicating a relatively high work rate.
That’s a bizarre description of an athlete.

I’m not taking anything from these sentinel “articles”.
They clearly know fuck all, and are writing for writings sake.
“Signings announced before the weekend” - they don’t have a clue.
Almost every team in the Championship will monitor Sawyers, he’s one of the best players in the league, it goes without saying.

Without mobile runners around him like Watkins, Benrahma and Canos I’m not sure Sawyers is the answer, good player all the same.
Remember Ryan Woods was Brentford’s best player the season before he joined us.
The key to Brentford’s style of play is their system and fluidity to bring players in when others move on. They haven’t missed a number of players since they moved on.....Woods, Jozefzoon, Jota and even Mepham.

Sounds like N'Zonzi doesn't it?! Loads of fuckwits on here called him lazy even though he covered more ground than everyone else in the team.

Mate Ive played football at a decent level i do have an idea about football - the fact that we have no identified role for joe allen means that he should be sold on add to that £10m for 29 year old and its fucking academic.
