Truly shocking. That he was driving at 135 mph before the crash ( link). I hate it when they release stuff like this, they’ve only just buried him and there’ll be people offering their unwanted two pence on this. Excessive on public roads yes, but having seen Spanish highways they’re mostly empty, and he’s only wiped himself out in this crash and no-one else, it’s the price you pay when your skill and luck runs out, sad all round.

Very very tragic situation.

Very very tragic situation. You quote that you hate when people put there two pence worth on this but then go on to get your facts wrong then follow on and say if your going do this speed do it on your own ? so you think its ok to do 135 on a public road and risk killing other drivers etc . That speed should only be driven on a race track and by a professional driver.

By two pence worth I mean people sullying his name over social media, when it’s likely he’s just made a tragic mistake and it’s had the worst possible outcome, I even stated it’s a sad situation all round and acknowledged the further information, which I wasn’t aware of. Doing 135mph on a public road is a tightrope, I personally have no issue with it on empty roads, indeed the Germans have no issue with it on their motorways, the caveat being be aware of the surroundings, the conditions, the vehicle and the road surface, and once you see even one vehicle on the horizon, step off it.

You'd prefer this information wasn't released? Driving at that speed on any public road is lunacy. You want proof. Ask the man himself. Or, more to the point, his brother. It's not sad. It's fucking mind numbingly stupid.

Have to agree I am sure no one sticks to 70mph in the UK but even on an empty motorway I rarely push it above 80mph better to be late in this world than early in the next one...........

Im always amazed at idiots who speed, probably mean that they get home a few minutes earlier so they can sit if the settee a little sooner.
I regularly get drivers a few inches from the rear of my car, I can only assume they want me to drive a little quicker, which doesn’t happen especially as around town I’m getting around 16.3 MPG
