Where did I refer to Smith ? I was talking about the fans attitude and the team in general. You can't see it but you typify the Aussie image of arrogance and being condescending. You referred to the Aussies cheating, of which Smith was one of the accused. The Aussies did cheat but I never referred to Smith individually as others were more culpable, but the team as a whole should be criticised, as should the management. This would/should be the case for any country found to have cheated, England included.

I do think the whole ball tampering thing should be put to one side now. They were found guilty, they served their punishment and now it is time to move on and concentrate on the cricket. It pains me too say it but Australia look the most likely winners to me. They bat deep and have a very good bowling attack.

Being put into bat and Plunkett in for Moeen. Surface has a bit of green on it and has been under cover for 2 days, could do a bit.

It looks fairly tame with Bangladesh bowling - it should be a bit livelier when we bowl.
Century for Roy - 174-1 after 28

Superb innings from Roy - out eventually for 153 after 6's in the first three balls of the over.
Buttler currently smashing it everywhere - England score 19 in 38th over !
263-3 after 38

Monster six from Buttler hit into the river ! Another quickfire 50 off just 33 balls - he's hobbling though !

Perfect batting performance by England so far with 5 overs left... Buttler on fire again, but looks like he’s injured himself.

Bangladesh getting something out of the pitch at a medium fast pace pitching it short, we should extract even more with the extra pace. Think Mortaza overdid it with Shakib at the top, England struggle v wrist spin but finger spin not so much.

Tell me again why Plunkett was dropped from this side?

386 should be enough, hopefully.

Moeen not in today’s squad because of his wife’s labour but I think it came well he needed to be rested after that batting performance against Pakistan the extra pace bowl should hopefully do the job against Bangladesh. Batting first allows us to put such pressure on the chasing team.

Back in the saddle, utmost professionalism all across the board today against a decent side and one we have had real trouble putting away in recent times.

We were excellent yesterday. Really professional performance. I’d keep the same 11 next game as I could see Moheen getting plundered by the Windies. Even though we’re playing well I think the Windies game is massive lose and I could see us failing to qualify. Win and we’re almost there. 5 best teams by a mile are us, Aussies, Indies, NZ and India. One will go home. In relation to the Aussies loved Clarke thought he was a really good guy but don’t like Smith but there “cheating” is no where near the level of Pakistan who in my option shouldn’t even be playing test cricket after the numerous incidents over the years. - the wicket keeper claiming he’d caught botham after dropping the ball. - Shakoorama - Miandad. - the numerous spot fixing cases over the years.

Get through the opening overs or Starc and Cummins and this Aussie attack is bang average.

India going well at the moment at 214-1 after 36 overs against the Aussies.

The Aussies are going well in response to India's 352-5. They need 116 from 10.4 overs.

beggars belief that they haven't programmed gaps in the schedule to accommodate any postponements due to the weather? I mean come on who would have thought it rain in june in England??

beggars belief that they haven't programmed gaps in the schedule to accommodate any postponements due to the weather? I mean come on who would have thought it rain in june in England?? The problem is the tournament is already too long - it started on May 30 and the final ain't until Jul 14!!! I think they need to think of another way to structure the tournament that allows for spare days without extending it further. As you say, you have to expect and plan for rain in June.

When it was the driest June in years last year the alarm bells should have been ringing as it was bound to rain this year.
