Already clocking in at two hours and 27 minutes, director Ari Aster revealed in an ongoing reddit AMA session that he’s “working on an extended cut” of the film that “will be at least 30 mins longer.”

But I’ve heard that Midsommar is like Saw meets Wicker Man... That's definitely bollocks, there are maybe 3-4 instances in the whole film where there is a violent scene and the film is 2hrs and 20 minutes long I’ve had my man watch it for me & he said I’ll be fine, apart from one bit & I’ll have time to look away. Just got to persuade MrsBath to come now...

It’s a great film, one of the most immersive cinema experiences I’ve had. Though I’m in no rush to see it again.

I've just got out of the cinema having been to see it, I'd say it's a bloody hard one to say! Definitely if you like the original Wicker Man it's in that realm but while it's got gore and it's a twisted festival and such it's very much about the girl and her journey and development through the film. I think I'd give Hereditary an 8.5 and this a 7 if I was to rate them, not that it was a worse film in fact in technical terms is absolutely fantastic but you have to be invested in it much more than your average horror movie like that new Annabelle. Also went to see it last night - thought it was total shite. 0/10 Pretentious, up its own arse, self indulgent drivel. I should have been warned having heard warm comparisons with another recent pseudo horror film that was also shite; Mother! Just got out the cinema on my 1st day of summer recess. What a £@#&!n trip🍄🧙♀️🌺🐻

Just got out the cinema on my 1st day of summer recess. What a £@#&!n trip🍄🧙♀️🌺🐻 Did you enjoy it then V Much, not as creepy as Hereditary, but a great piece of voyeurism. Could be made into sequel, with the rise of the May Queen & the conceived child. My only issue with it was, WTF was all that blue tarpaulin on either side of the pyramid. I was waiting for some great reveal which never came...

Read a few interviews with the director and he points out that the festival isn't over and the ending of the movie is only a couple of days into it. Believe there will be a 30 min+ extra cut coming out with the bluray
