Interested in what people who have been affected by this are doing or, have done.
Other than the matches that the club just plain gave up on trying to cover I have some idea of totals.
I would say that about a third of all the matches coverage was totally unacceptable. A large remainder of the rest had at least some major problem (migraine inducing screen strobing, no commentary, no fx mic, aweful audio balance -its two feeds for goodness sake)
On a personal level I would like to see the club offer the early adopters of this service next seasons matches free. It would be not only a nice gesture (I don’t think the club has even offered an apology to the people who spent money on this service) but also at least try to keep the overseas fans, who not only spent money but much time on this, on the clubs side.
From the few emails or responses I have seen this season the attitude of the club has been, at best dismissive and, in one response (to one of our merry band who has done his best to help out the fan base a damn sight more than the club) border line distasteful.
Maybe it would make a good Python sketch:
Id like to buy some bread We will need your money first OK You need a password OK, I have a password now Ah, you will need to change your password But my password worked fine Got to change it OK, changed my password We don’t sell bread anymore

It was and is a complete disgrace, an embarrassment to add to the long list associated with...ergh..."my" club 🙄. I even grimace wearing my Stoke attire this side of the hemisphere. I really do not associate well with the clubs values (or lack of) at present.

It’s been a complete shit show, with zero accountability from anyone at the club or whoever they are using to provide this “service”. The responses from “customer support” regarding major issues has been fucking laughable, some just insulting. Never once has anyone come close to an apology, nor has anyone given a valid reason for the constant issues. I didn’t pay for the entire season upfront, so have been paying on a game-by-game basis. I’ve managed to get a few refunds for the numerous occasions where the stream has been completely unacceptable, but it’s been an uphill battle all season long.

I've flagged it up at least twice with the supporters council so it is in their hands now to raise these issues. I would hope that we could have some confirmation from ange1 or houstonmike that it's under review for the next meeting somewhere along the line.

Probably just get some "we are working on it" garbage. I'm guessing we are using it as a way of paying some ffp (creating an associated company and making large losses) and the old 'keeping it in the family' line springs to mind. Anyones grand kids or cousins head of the phone quality official streaming company by any chance? I could have done better by using my phone at the ground and having a computer to stream from, it was honestly that bad.

So, what are the odds that the club will actually do anything about it? As I've said in related threads, I'd gladly turn over my dollars to stream matches via Stoke+ if I knew it was going to be a quality product. As it stands now, they'll have to prove their product even more so to get anything out of me. It's a real head scratcher as why they couldn't accomplish this in this day and age.

The situation completely flummoxed the powers that be. Despite it being abundantly clear to the football world we were getting relegated they were rabbits startled n headlights and had no plan for this at all.
Bit there's no excuse at all for 2019/20.
Maybe they think it isn't cost effective, or an error to provide this service for exiles?

Given the clubs history on this sort of stuff it'd probably be better to aim for a year or two.

Although it's probably exactly what they want, I've reached the point of admitting defeat and giving up with them.
To date I have sent or received 34 emails to and from the Magnificently titled 'Stoketvsupport'. Yes you did read that correctly...30 F****** 4!
During the course of the season and these messages, I have been passed from Ilaria to Peter...from Peter to Matthew...from Matthew to Jack...and finally from Jack to Peter O! (I have no idea if the original "Peter" and "Peter O" are one and the same? I expect so, with the O being added to make it look like I haven't actually gone full circle!
I do have to say that I have received an apology on every occasion...However, it is usually extremely patronising and always questions me and/or my computer, internet, browser etc. etc. etc. They have refunded me on 3 occasions but not once have they accepted any form of blame or responsibility. It was always as "we understand your frustration so, an act of good will" blah, blah, blah.
The final email from them is a particular highlight as it ended with them questioning if I had actually logged on...here is "Peter O's" quote;
"I have looked into your account on our end and I can confirm that there appears to be no login attempt on May 5th when you encountered the problem. This could mean that you were signing into an incorrect account."
This followed an email I sent that actually included screen shots of me clearly logged on and looking at a blank screen!!
If anyone out there can help in any way, I would be happy to talk and help in any way I can.

It's very difficult to be able to say anything positive about the 'service'. Every match has held frustrations from start to finish (much like the team I suppose). Will I be able to log in?. What kind of picture will I get? What level of sound quality this week, if any? Will the whole game be on? Will I get a sensible response if I complain? This isn't even mentioning camera angles, updated (or not) scores, absence of replays, banal and obvious commentaries. Home matches were always worse than those away. I'll go with them again, because I'm a Stoke supporter-but they make it difficult.

I am sure we have no way of finding out but I would be interested to know how many people were affected by this. Whole season or game by game.
As to the club claiming people hadn’t logged on, I know for a fact that people who had paid up front gave up towards the end of the season. This was especially true after the whole change of loggin procedure with half a dozen or so games left.

^ I primarily listened to Signal 2 (it has it's own issues, namely the commentators), but it got the job done. I also was able to watch a few matches on ESPN+. I would have tried the Stoke+ service if there had been at least one glowing review on here, but none materialized. Stoke+ still sounds broke-dick to me and nothing I've read up to this point will make me subscribe until it gets rectified.

It was shockingly bad for almost every game and by the end of the season I’d given up. I paid upfront for the whole season assuming that if the club would take my money they would be able to provide the service they were offering (more fool me). I did manage to secure a few refunds but in most cases it needed follow up mails to get them, then in some cases no refund and no reply to my mails. During one match with no commentary (maybe no bad thing) I complained only to be told that there was no obligation on their part to provide commentary, despite their advertising clearly stating ‘exclusive live commentary’. I also had the usual questioning regarding my system and settings, however since I only stream tv (Netflix, HBO Nordic, Amazon Prime, iPlayer, etc.) and never have any problems, it is clear the issues are with Live+. No intention of renewing, primarily because of their inability to accept that the service last season was piss poor, not accepting any accountability and having zero customer service.

And people get rabbitt for £1per match working brilliant To be fair, we all have the same service and me and Maryland have been trying to get improvements for the whole season, the service I provide on rabb.it hasn't always been reliable the streams have been ridiculously bad quality at times and the lack of time and the inclusion of a scoreboard came about due to mass complaints after the fiasco over the Hull stream. I'm grateful that you think it's been brilliant though!

When the coverage against Hull was awful, I went onto the Hull official site and paid the same amount to watch a much better, working stream.
Could a potential solution be to avoid the club's offering and just buy a one off viewing thing for each club we play against?

We shouldn't have to though and it's a ball ache to go over to each individual site each match as well as it being £5 more expensive which adds up over a season
