My dad had a 7” floppy (fnar fnar) - ‘Stan Matthews’ by Keele Row.
I can’t imagine many survive though!

There's a commentary LP from the 72 final apparently. Not seen/heard it, but I'm assured it exists.
On the picture cover of Ted Chippington's 87 'hit' 'the Wanderer' I seem to recall there was a 72 cup final commemorative plate on his wall... maybe wrong. He is/was from Stoke.
And there's an Owd Grandad Piggott track.... Grandad vs Derby County.

Yep..also got a copy of the lp. Brian Moore was the commentator from memory...apparently it was a ‘dull afternoon but perfect for football.’ It was the only medium available for a while to get the 72 highlights...apart from super 8 films that were also advertised in Shoot! Magazine...

Hey guys Just wondering if anyone knows of any other Stoke City records besides this one on Trent Records. I am a bit of a record freak and I also DJ, so I was just wondering if anyone had any tips on other Stoke City records I should keep my eye out for? I found that "We'll be with you/ Theme for a Team" Trent Records 45 online in a charity shop in Alsager a few years ago, so my Aunt went for me and then mailed it to Canada for me. Any tips would be great! Cheers. Sorry if this thread is in the wrong section but it's kind of football related There was a follow up to 'We'll Be With You', think it was called 'We'll Be Together' or something? Lead (spoken) vocal by Gordon Banks! I'll try and dig it out.

He was recounting a memory from the 1930s.. He travelled to The Regent for a pantomime the show began with a comedian in the red and white singing a song entitled.... "When Stoke bring the Cup back to Stoke". Not sure if you'd be able to get that on an old '78... Just thought that was a great tale. A memory that had stayed with him. A little bit Fast Show.

Mind me washboard...! Not that it is vinyl, so well off piste, but I have a feeling John Farmer was fond of writing poetry - quite possibly as therapy for having been passed over twice (in favour of Banks and Shilton). If you could dig that out (a very big if, but someone on here might know), you could put some music* behind it, and create your own addition. *Maybe NWA or Summer Madness by Kool and the Gang.

Funnily enough JF was a mate of my old man's used to visit our house in the 70's. Don't recall him being particularly poetic but I will look into that. Cheers.

But they weren't brothers. Apparently they wrote 'Sailing' and 'Arms of Mary' while living in a house overlooking Stanley Pool.

A few lyrics from the Stan Matthews song circa 1963 - I was 8 at the time and my Dad had a copy
"Stan Matthews scored against Luton Town, the goal that won promotion They say you could hear the noise of the crowd as far away as Buxton And indeed my lads, its true my lads i've never been known to lie And if you've been down Boothen Road you'd see the same as I"

I have the LP with the recoding of the 72 final and a cassette tape of Stan Mathews by the Keel rag Row. I also have the 55 of we’ll be with with you. But I do know there was a record of a song called Banksie which is available to download.
