I would class the Gallaghers as Rock Stars in the classic sense. Hardly think trying to be obnoxious whilst surrounded by minders is very out there. Was a good comment by Roger Daltrey on Top Gear where he basically says that accountants run the music business now and that artists were free to do what they wanted back then although it didn't always work out for the best. There was a story where after a tour of America that Keith Moon got paid £12 after expenses due to his trail of destruction. Doesn't happen now, all Twitter, award ceremonies and gold studded I Phones Remember when Liam got his teeth knocked out by some Italians in Germany. Silly manc tw@t. Have suddenly warmed to our Italian cousins

Moon biting Steve McQueen’s dog takes some beating though 😂 His penchant for blowing up toilets makes me chuckle.... I read Ollie reeds biography shortly after Keith moons , the stories usually involved each other as they lived in neighbouring country mansions . One story told how moon hired a helicopter and instructed the pilot to fly low and buzz Oliver reed as he walked in his grounds , reed ran inside for his 12 bore and as they swooped in again reed kept firing trying to bring it down , fortunately he was too pissed to hit it

Now days people want a "Music career" in the past people played music to avoid having a career..... Yeah, they could claim the rock&roll, whilst trying to make it in rock&roll. Universal Credit has put a stop to that. Music has become the privilege of the rich & where’s the angst in that⚠️

Love him or hate him, Matty Healy’s the only interesting front man around these days.
“Rock” music is practically dead now, mainstream wise anyway apart from the Foo Fighters.

Story was that Ollie casually invited Keith round and the next morning he landed on his lawn in a helicopter and Ollie started to shoot at him and and Dougal Butler his assistant as had no idea who it was. He ended up staying a week...hope is true 😂

Now days people want a "Music career" in the past people played music to avoid having a career..... That is such nonsense I dont think so.... These days people are styled from what they wear to what pictures are taken of them. An image is made for the "pop star" I dont imagine anyone told The Rolling stones how to dress, or Oasis or Freddie Mercury. Rock stars cut there own path and tend not to manufactured. They keep management involvement to a minimum. See also Motley Crue...

See also Motley Crue... 😀 Oasis were a Beatles tribute band I see your point to an extent but the 60s pretty much any group was told how to dress and often the same. The 70s pop stars again were magazine fodder so much more than today I feel. 80s was all image, groups had stylists travelling with them etc. You've singled out the odd rare example, I wouldn't include Oasis in that, I think they very much followed a dress code ...You could pigeon hole someone like Freddie Mercury with say Lady Ga Ga today where they had a different style of their own but few and far between. The whole pop star image has existed from the 1950s from the likes of Billy Fury straight through to Boy bands of today. Groups like The Who were very much told how to dress in their early days, if you look at their style of the 70s when they were rock stars as such, the whole fashion of the day of flares and frilled shirts etc was the norm...Led Zep, The Who etc

Pete Doherty's sobered up now (I would say "cleaned up" but he still looks like he needs a bath). Big fan of the Libertines and I enjoyed Babyshambles too. Seen the Libs twice, Babyshambles three times and Doherty solo twice. Part of his appeal is that he's actually quite funny and intelligent too, I think he seemed to become a cliché and started taking drugs in the first place because it was the rock and roll thing to do; so although there's nothing original in his drug use, it was still in pursuit of danger and he has the personality I was on about in my earlier post. Certainly in the earlier years of his career he had a mint, intimate relationship with fans (gigs in his house etc, so never considered himself as separate and inaccessible like most musicians are). Very distinctive music too. Not to everyone's taste but definitely recognisable, so to me yes, he fits the bill as a proper rock star. Apparently not... www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/8946031/kate-moss-ex-pete-doherty-dog-crack-pipe-drug-addiction/

We've still got Eugene Robinson of Oxbow fame if yer fancy taking a risk, thrill seeking on the front row. ..and of course we've got our very own Bruce Forthwright of Widgie fame. Still plenty of wild men/women of rawk out there. Them in the mainstream are too busy Devil worshipping and having meltdowns to get any proper partying done. Mr Freeex, forgive me if this is an impertinent question, but is Bruce Forthright in fact your good self?
