I thought both were disappointing tbh. Our midfield completely bottled it, especially second half. I thought they played poorly, but neither of them hid that was my point.... In all honesty I don’t think anybody actually hid mate ....we were just woeful Allen and Etebo are both excellent players but not in the same side as they are both engines and that’s our downfall when Bojan or someone similar is not on the pitch I’m sick of watching runners and engines with nobody in there to compliment it

Even Fergie or Pep would’ve only lasted 6 months at stoke with some on here.. Some fans are an absolute joke producing this negative energy, which is clearly killing the players on the pitch.
Woods for example, good player when he first come, but once he was destroyed by his own ‘fans’ regarding booing backpasses, then it’s completely destroyed his confidence.
I wouldn’t want to play for this club... Butland made a great save yesterday and fans are booing. It’s quite laughable.
Toxic fan base.

You're wrong about the football. We haven't got the players to capitalise on the way we play. Part of the skills of a good manager is to get the best out of the players you have and the skills they have. I completely agree that we have a woefully unbalanced squad which is the legacy of 3 or 4 years of dreadful recruitment, Guardiola couldn't get this shower of shit promoted. But I would say I enjoyed more games under Rowett than I have under Jones, and we were mostly terrible under Rowett too. And we definitely scored more goals and got more points. With the big exception of the Leeds game we have been absolutely turgid under Jones and I feel like he's getting less out of the players than Rowett did. And Rowett deserved the sack. The big difference between the two though is Rowett failed with his own players and had a summer to recruit and failed miserably. Jones deserves the chance to have his own summer and to see what he can do. However as a like for like comparison of which manager managed to get more from this squad of players, currently Rowett is ahead and the football was slightly less shit under him in my opinion. Ok let's go for our fifth manager in 18 months then and let's give him the opportunity to prove himself as the previous three have had.

You're wrong about the football. We haven't got the players to capitalise on the way we play. We have we have wank players who complement the wank way we play perfectly, evidenced perfectly by Clucas, Mc Clean, Afobe, Vokes etc, it also appears we have a manager who despite his claims clearly can not see what the fans can. So, so very wrong.

Oh and while we're at it, some of the hysterics and name calling that he got from behind the dugouts today was entirely unnecessary. I hate this but just out of interest what are people shouting and aimed at who? I wish people would stop that it really can’t help despite how poor we were? Just the usual sorts of insults you hear hurled at football matches, usually reserved for, say, Arsene Wenger.

I don't blame folks for booing, shit starting 11 and even worse leaving the subs to the 85th minute. It was a fucking shambles.

Can’t understand booing the team or the manager. Always talking about how we need to keep hold of players like etebo if we wanna go up next season but do you really think players like him will want to stay if they’re getting booed off every week. The players must think we’re dickheads.

Jones' attitude is a breadth of fresh air. He is quite unique in that respect. However, if any manager in living memory had produced what his teams have, then he would not be lasting much longer. Its been dire.
We are all waiting for summer - basically, backing that Jones's charismatic persona and (so far latent) coaching skills will come to the fore with new players that he gets to choose.
I'll be honest, am not so sure it is going to happen. But we'll see. I don't think many don't like him and I think most appreciate his Luton experiences show him to have some great qualities. Are they the ones for us? Not so sure.
At the time he was appointed, I thought he was a guy chosen because he was backed for an imminent period of 2-3yrs over which time the club will be selling 20-30m of player, ands spending 5-10m; so needing to cut their cloth by buying from the lower leagues that Jones knows well. If that's the case, NJ is probably as good as any managerial choice - because he is battling inertia above him and incompetence around him - but just don't expect better than 10th any time soon.

He is stuck with a bunch of players that have been under performing for some time? We've seen what they are capable of doing but there are times when they choose not to, there is nothing the manager can do about that. He is working with payers he would obviously prefer not to work with. I would rather judge him as a manager next January when he has had time to work with personnel. In addition I have never booed my team or any individuals within the club, I believe negativity breeds negativity, and I think that has been proved over the seasons. I'd rather encourage than put the boot in. Our supporters have become toxic.

Our players are completely lacking in confidence, some fans seem to think that the best way to boost their confidence is to scream abuse. The 2000 odd people who walked out when Rotherham scored their second (which shouldn't have stood by the way as he was clearly off-side) should be particularly proud of the support they gave the team.

NJ has been here four months now that's over a full pre season he has failed to improve us in any real terms, the football last week was dross there is no excusing that team selection played a massive part in that uber wank, to top it off he then names and shames Bojan and has a pop at the fans for good measure arrogant idiot.

Rowett didn't. I've read back through your contributions to the Oatcake and note that the vast majority of them are negative. That negativity includes complaining about Rowett. As I say negativity breeds negativity therefore I end this discussion.

Honeymoon definitely over for him. There's a massive job to do this summer. Is Jones the right man? I like him but there's the inescapable fact that we're getting less points per game than we did under Rowett. And scoring less goals and playing worse football too. It was pretty obvious he'd do worse than Rowett when he was appointed - anyone expecting things to get better this season was deluded. Jones wasn't appointed with this season in mind - the club wrote off this season and this squad when they sacked Rowett. Jones should be judged on what he does next season when he's had a window and a preseason to build his own team. What he's been able to do with this squad is irrelevant - it's going to get ripped apart this summer anyway.
