Read today where David Gowers making way for an ex England female bowler on Sky.
What is it with Sport on TV at the moment. Yesterday we had 2 females and Jamie Redknapp at the Sky game.
I’m all for equality but it’s gone way to much the other way.
Coverage is getting wrecked now by the PC brigade.

It was always going to happen, people fight for an inch and then they want a mile, the problem is where does it end.

We also got rid of Sky last year. Truth is, she will be substantially cheaper than Gower

Meh There was a story a few months ago that Gower was being moved out, but it didn't say he was being replaced by a female ex-player.

I've never paid sky a penny on principle but it's indicative of the wider problem.
Lets ditch the insight of someone who played at the highest level for 117 matches for someone who played in front of three people at a standard way short of county league just because of gender.
If he was a poor broadcaster it would be defensible as not all players make good pundits, but he is good, I doubt she will be even close to his standard.

In fairness, I know of plenty of sportspeople who played hundreds of matches at the highest level of their sport, and can barely pronounce their own name. There are so few female pundits in sports, and I really don't see the issue in there being some hired. In the case of Alex Scott, for example, she's one of the best football pundits around. Find something worthwhile to moan about.

Super Sunday- AKA The Alex Scott Show. To be fair she's much better than when Thierry Henry did it.

People moan about female pundits as if the art of football punditry was completed nailed by the likes of Michael f*cking Owen and Robbie Savage. Some of these female pundits might be shit, but in doing so they're only living up to the standard set by others.

So, trying to play devils advocate here.... perhaps this is equality? We've had 50 odd years of exclusively males commenting on male and female sports. Perhaps now they're trying to redress that balance and I fail to see the harm. Obviously the ideal scenario is a situation where the actual sex of the pundits and the sportsman isn't relevant anymore. For example, 2 females + 1 male pundit talking about a male football match, 2 males + 1 female pundit talking about a female football match.
It's a shame, but I very much doubt it will happen this way.
