If he wants to knock Pickford off top spot he is going to have to go to a bigger club than Palarse, I just can’t see a top club coming in for him now unless one of them loses their first choice to Madrid

You'd think he'd be off to a Palace/Bournemouth type for £15-20m.
He'll want to give himself a chance of England and if he's playing well at that level of club, he'd at least have a sniff

Hes an outstanding goalkeeper and hes still young.

Classic Oatcake 180 on display here. A few months ago he was an “arrogant overrated tosser”.

not a chance, they wouldn’t pay what we would want, unless someone pays us 30 million he won’t be going anywhere You obviously have no idea how football works. I want him to stay to spearhead our promotion push next year but Jack has international aspirations so you couldn't blame him going to a Leeds, Norwich, sheff utd, Palace type team. Either way it will be a sad day for me if he goes

Who says he has to stay in this country. He’d do well at top club in another country.

If he wants to play for England he has to leave. End off. Can't be taken seriously in this joke of a division but the question is who wants him?????

Would we consider loaning him out for a season?
Not an ideal situation a you want your best player to help you get promoted but might be an option if we did get a replacement in for te championship and managed to get up.

Not in the championshit you don't. It's a backwater no one is intreasted in it globally you dont get seen save against arsenal, Chelsea it gets noticed a save against sheff wed or Bristol city dont. You want to play against the best you have to be in premier league

if you play and play well then you have to be picked I think Southgate has pretty much said players need to be in the Premier league. I can understand that for outfield players as it's difficult to gauge how good someone like Jack Grealish is when he's turning it on against Rotherham in comparison to Ross Barkley turning it on against Man City for example. However the goalkeeper position is different a brilliant save from a Championship player is equal to a brilliant save from a Premier league player. Unfortunately Southgate doesn't agree and therefore Butland will probably leave for the Premier league and the best of luck to him, we've been fortunate to have him at our club.

Euro 2020 is after next season.
Southgate has pretty much said you need to be playing in the prem, to be considered fo the squad
Jack (unfortunately) will be gone this summer, if he wants to be in that England squad for the tournament. It's necessary for him.
It won't be to a big team, it'll be to a West Ham, Everton, Wolves, Newcastle or Palace level team.
It's vital we're considering keepers now, ready for his departure.

This is the most bizarre argument. Surely Southgate should be combing the regional Sunday leagues if the level a goalkeeper is playing at makes no difference.

The way he has played in the Championship, you have got to think one of the promoted sides this season would want to buy him to cement their place in the Prem.
Those clubs would have a trues appreciation of his value, whereas existing Prem teas might look down their noses and think it's easy for him in the Championship.

I would imagine his sale is already being factored into our calculations of staying on the right side of FFP - not that I have the foggiest idea of how it works.

I quite agree, I'm just repeating what I've read: www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/international/jack-grealish-aston-villa-england-call-up-squad-latest-gareth-southgate-a8837706.htmlEdit: Sorry just read your post again: It's not that a bizarre argument. Butland is a proven goalkeeper with seasons of experience in the Premier league, he hasn't suddenly lost that ability because he's playing in the Championship. An outfield player can lose that competetiveness and awareness by dropping a league because the skill level of the opposition is a lot less, I don't think that applies to a goalkeeper as much.
