Shame that, some nice clobber in their ranges.
As you’d expect, Mike Fucking Ashley being linked. That’ll pretty much guarantee;
1. I’ve bought my last bit of PG gear. 2. It’ll get devalued to fuck, everything under £20. 3. Paisley-print three-quarter-length trackies all over the shop.

Do brands like this have a shelf life?

Do brands like this have a shelf life? In what respect? I think that some brands gain a bit of a following (PG is one, Luke is another for example) by putting together decent collections for mainly affordable prices. Maybe their business model was too reliant on the House of Fraser concessions. PG has been going for 10yrs, but I think they’re relatively small, so always I suppose a bad decision or two away from trouble

A brand like Fred Perry lasts longer? I always saw brands like pretty green as linked to that music scene and the football casuals

To be fair, a lot of the labels are linked to Terrace Culture these days; Pretty Green has always I think been a bit of a ‘Mod’ brand, in the same way perhaps that Stone Island = Hooligan. Fred Perry disappeared from the mainstream for some time, there has more recently been a bit of a Retro revival, Fred Perry is back and more mainstream again, a few others too.

Little known fact but former Stoke 'striker' Dave Kitson is a significant shareholder in Pretty Green.
I'm not making this up as (like usual) either - check Companies House.

As I get older I am less bothered about fashion and prefer stuff for comfort and purpose For men, from the age of around 11/12 to reaching 40 buying clothes is all about carefully curating your own personal style. After that, it's about trying not to look like a sex case.

Barrington sports in Knutsford is closing down, some great bargains online. Another one bought out by the fat cunt Ashley, all staff (know some who work there) being made redundant

It is a shame, I have purchased a few coats from pretty green. All really well made, my particular favorite being a very nice m65.

How do you dress like a sex case? :-)
Whilst on the subject what happened to flashers, you don't see them any more in parks etc? Shame, things were so much better back then. Those who went extra mile to add kitchen utensils under their macs always scored extra points from me, real dedication to the cause.

Hardly surprising, even Liam Gallagher himself doesn’t wear it now.
It’s clothing for mods, and there’s only about 12 mods in every city now so it’s ran it’s course, it’s not popular second hand either, I’ve had a hoody for sale that I paid £120 for for a tenner and it’s getting about as much attention as Margot Robbie in a gay bar.

I've got about 8 of their polo shirts that are all decent quality and wearing well. Other than that I never really bothered.....

Have to disagree, their head of design does too, they may do the odd thing but its far from mod, personally I'd put it in the indie/casual scene.
