Way back in the dim and distant past 1983, I had the opportunity to go to Crewe for goalkeeping trials. My PE teacher advised me against going to Crewe for trials.

On the radio stoke sport at six programme on Monday (I think) there was a small tribute to Dario by the Crewe match summariser or commentator, Pete Morse, and he stated that he used to stay at Dario's house along with other players. It must have been when he was a youth player. So Crewe's claim that youth players weren't sanctioned to stay overnight at a coach's house is a bit rubbish. Pete wrote in his Crewe Chronical piece, that he stayed at Dario's on numerous occasions, along with other lads and even on his own, although no suggestion of impropriety, it does make Crewe's claims total lies.

Would be interesting to know what Gradi knew and when. And how close he was to everything that was going on.
There's a lot a vague talk in that article about 'not doing enough to prevent the abuse' but very little detail about what he did, or didn't do. Or what he knew and when.
I guess we'll never know the answer, clearly there's not enough evidence for a criminal investigation because that would have happened long ago if there was. But there must be enough very strong suggestions of impropriety because the Honours Committee don't strip people of their honours lightly. As we've seen many times over the years with pretty dodgy people being able to keep their honours despite new information coming to light.

He'll have forgotten he was awarded the MBE just like he reckons he can't recall any wrong doings at his club right under his watch ππ¬

I miss the odd Crewe fan calling him O'Gradi on P and G
