Having decided that we would both quit smoking (me and now the ex mrs) I have finally after 3 months since we split decided to give this a go, today is day one and I had one last cigarette at 7am, it's now 9pm so 14 hours and only in the last 2 to 3 hours has it been something occupying my mind, the vape has been able to keep the cravings etc at bay, only an hour or so before bed but this is the longest without a real like light it up smoke I have been for years. Vaping any thoughts? I k ow it's not like really quitting cigarettes but to go this log without lighting up feels epic. That and this caramel flavour (not my choice ex mrs left it behind) tastes like cinder toffee it's nice *presses button, takes a toke*

About the same 5-6 years no fags, vaping takes a bit of getting used to. Can leave you a bit chesty but must be better than fags. Save shit loads with vaping but will pack up at some point.

A massive well done to you guys. I’ve never smoked but having seen 3 close relatives literally smoke themselves to death because they couldn’t kick the nicotine addiction I’ve seen first hand the destruction it causes. Keep going guys and hopefully one day you’ll kick the vapes as well. 👍

We’ve had threads like this before but I suppose a new one can’t do any harm (unlike smoking!).
The only advice I can offer is that you’ve just got to want to stop.
No half hearted measures like “I’ll try because the mrs wants me to”, “some of my mates have stopped so I’ll give it a try myself”, or other similar stuff.
The reason to stop has to be deep within you. You’ve got look at a packet of fags, possibly even take one out of the pack and then decide ‘NO, I’ve quit and there’s no way I’m going to light this’. If you mean it, it will go back in the box and eventually never come out again as those moments become fewer and fewer.
But, you’ve got to really really want to do it.
And believe me, it’s a fantastic feeling when you’ve won.
Well done to those on the vape’s. Just one more big push now should see you completely clean.

Vaping really helped me quit.
Gave up cigarettes 7 years ago and then vaped for 9 months, over that period gradually reducing the amount I vaped, until I was completely free.

As a none smoker, vaping obviously safer option but when in the vicinity of someone “vaping”, stinks depending on flavour used, will say some have nice aroma, what is worrying is adults looking like babies sucking their teats/dummy’s!!

If you want to give it a proper go you need to get people to join in with you. The best place seems to be in the tunnel after the match. You should be able to get 20 or 30 to join in with you if you do it right and then even more all the way up to the bridge over the A50.

That is pretty much accepted generally. One of the best modern inventions in my view. I smoked 20 fags a day for 40 years and could never have quit without the vape pen. It's also currently a lot cheaper than tobacco fags.

Yeah make sure you get a decent liquid.
I’ve never smoked but I’ve got mates that vape, and some of their clouds smell like unwashed penis.

Listen to your Mrs. for once Seriously, think about the future of your child, does it want to see it's father dying a slow painful death before his time, lying in a bed with oxygen tubes stuck in him to help him breathe whilst the cancer slowly eats away at him turning him into a living skeleton wearing a nappy ? Go cold turkey or get the patches or something and stop putting it off, sound advice from Dr. Northy

I've been a cigar smoker for about 30 years. I've recently switched to vaping (more accurately I'm combining both at the moment). My problem is that I can't find an e-liquid that tastes and smells like cigar tobacco. They all taste of vanilla to me, even the ones that claim to give pure tobacco taste. Anyone else out there who prefers a pure tobacco flavour and can recommend a liquid? I think I can finally make the switch if I can find the right one. Edit ~ I'm using a Vladdin vape device like the one below www.ukecigstore.com/vladdin-re-pod-kit.html

Vapes don't hit the spot, do they? As a smoker myself, I reckon the whole habit of going outside and feeling a cigarette between your fingers is half of the battle - it's an ingrained habit on top of the nicotine addiction. Congrats on the impending arrival by the way - just think, if you can kick the fags, you will be able to afford a lovely replica Stoke kit for the young un and maybe (depending on how much you smoke/cut down) a season ticket for next season (maybe that's a hard sell at the moment though...)
