I spoke to him at the end of the game and asked if he would be a Stoke player come August, to which he said he would be. Bauer and Bojan said they would be leaving over the Wimmer Etobo said him being at Stoke in August would be dependant on how he gets on at ACON 1. Over the Wimmer? 2. Are you saying that Bojan and Bauer both told you they were leaving? And Etebo gave some commentary around his situation? To a fan waiting outside the ground...?

Thought when he first arrived he was shot shy. Something you can work on/with. Unfortunately it appears he's football shy. My mate calls him "nesh". Old school for timid.

Absofuckinglutley, and there were plenty of other people there who heard the same thing

Over the summer - predictive text. I was going to say if he was leaving over the Wimmer it would take the poor twat three years.

Recurrence of groin problem Very contradictory quotes from Jones there. So was it a fix or a quick fix last season, if it was only a quick fix why is he surprised he's broken down again.

I thought the same.... "It happened towards the end of last season and we thought we had fixed it, but it was more of a short-term fix at the time." “We didn’t intend it to be short-term, but it was, so he’s just gone back and is checking on a few things." Huh?!

Contract negotiations with another club? "Injuries" have often covered for those in the past.....

I'm surprised managers ever bother saying anything - people seem to read into statements just what suits them - the medics thought they had sorted the problem as they considered a short term fix reasonable. They thought it would be sufficient in the long term but that's not how it has turned out - NJ can only go by what the medics tell him - so what's the problem - looking to find a stick to beat him with?

Because what is reported is weird and contradictory and doesn't make sense. Makes sense to me so you have the problem Yes I know because you've come up with a bizarre explanation whereby they thought a short term fix would work in the long term which either makes you or them a bit stupid really...

Sorry, it makes sense to me too. You tend to lose abit of context when you can't hear someone's voice or watch their body language.

They thought a short term fix would work in the long term did they? Funny that didn't work out isn't it... Not funny at all. I once had what was supposed to be a short term fix to my ankle. I was then told that if it worked as hoped, and the tissues and bone healed, it could last for a number of years (become long term?) and I would not need the more severe long term solution to my ankle problem. Problem returned after 5 years and I had the nastier solution. Medical opinions and decisions are not always straightforward and simple

I don't think it's a loss of context I think it's the fact that a short term fix is not a long term fix - a short term fix works in the short term and a long term fix works in the long term.

Have already made a response to you regarding how a proposed short term fix of mine was supposed to work long time but after 5 years did not - so make sure of your facts before labelling anything of a medical nature as stupid

He talks utter bollocks and in that says it was fixed but he's not. I don't think the doctors describing the easier (probably cheaper solution) to your ankle is quite the same.

I was under the impression that he had a hernia operation? Thought at the time that his “recovery” a bit quick. Four to six weeks out but from memory he was only out two or three. So perhaps he didn’t have hernia operation? In which case why didn’t have it in the close season? One for FM to retrace ?
