Gunmen stormed a Mosque and killed dozens.
And by all account the Bangladesh Cricket Team were there at the time, but all escaped unhurt.

At least one Australian involved allegedly because NZ was an easier target. I heard on the radio that one of the killings was live streamed on FB by one of the sickos. There are reports that the lunatic who organised this had a manifesto in the way that Brevik used his atrocity to air his weird views on life.

40 years ago it was leftist terrorists (Bader-Minehoff, Red Brigade) all trying to impose their ideology on the mainstream and carrying out attacks - now its right wing fascists doing exactly the same. It's gone from class war to start a revolution to trying to start a race war
The danger of ideology is that it is just that: an idea
How can killing for what is just an opinion ever be justified?
We live in times of great tolerance and openness marred by such atrocities.....all because someone had an idea fuelled by hatred

It's awful, and the fact I'm not even shocked by it is equally awful, terrorist attacks, mass shootings, planes falling out of the sky... just another day in the life, this shit happens far too regularly. There are some scumbags in this world.

Just logged on Twitter to have a read of the mornings news to see people going mental over Pewdiepie (He's a bloke who makes videos about silly memes for those that don't know) Half the people are attacking him, the other half defending him. Half the people are attacking people who play video games, half the people are defending them. There's basically a shit storm kicked off between 'the left' & 'the right' and their views on everything. I still had no idea what it was all about at this point, but I finally found out it's over this awful tragedy in New Zealand. Apparently the scumbag shooter was hoping to kick-off a bunch of 'wars' (IE; whites v non-whites, Muslims v non-muslims, right v left etc...) and it seems, judging by Twitter atleast, that everyone has fallen head first into doing just that.
Meanwhile no-one gives the slightest shit about the victims & their families, it's all just a big political point scoring exercise over some scumbag terrorists actions. What a sad, horrible place this world has become.
Rest in peace to the victims, and may their families get all the help they need.

Anyone who demonises a group of people based on the actions of a small percentage of those people is complicit in this type of event happening I'm afraid.
Take the Cultural Enrichment thread on here for example, it would be very easy to be drawn into thinking that all Muslims were serial rapists and terrorist sympathisers intent on bringing Sharia Law to the rest of the world. There's no nuance anymore, everything is black and white. It's depressing.
Take a step back and think about the language you use sometimes, we're all gulity of it. Try and take people as you find them irrespective of what colour/race/religion they are and recognise that there are good and bad the world over. People are generally just going about their business, trying to provide for their families and lead a quiet life. They're not interested in this shit.
RIP to all those poor bastards killed today, and for victims of terror around the globe. Their only crime being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Dangerous in that it makes them feel correct as there's a lack of opposition, total echo-chamber. Relieved to see posters on here condemning it because I've been on the edge of quitting this site due to the absolute disconnect I felt between me and my own, reading through that thread is about the most depressing thing anyone can do.

Just seen a clip of the shooting, didn't have to search for it, it was just there on Twitter, saw 5 seconds of it before I had to look away. The guy was using a camera strapped to his head and it made it look like a sick video game.
Sick doesn't get close to what they did.
