Luton fan here. None of them !!!! A lot will depend on the new manager. The bond between the board, the fans, the players, and Micky Harford is incredibly strong. Wanting to work with Nathan Jones will be influential, but then they look at the relationship between fans and board and manager at Stoke and I suspect it will be factored in. At a club where they have the same shop window as being at Stoke, a club in harmony or where as you lot say there needs to be a clearout. On the subject of Jones. Yep born again Christian and a self righteous prick. Is he the right manager for Stoke, dunno. At Luton we have a CEO, board, player, and Micky that the fans are 100% behind the club. Jones had a platform to work from. The bloke had a vision of how he wanted to play, but the club also had a plan. When he left it confirmed that no one was bigger than the club.I suspect that Jones will get you into the Premier league but unless you have a CEO to provide the longer term balance it will be a problem. We are Luton Town
You need to get in the real world lad Yeah what planet is he on - as if we'll get in the Prem

Good post, it sounds like your club are in a good groove and on a "journey". The fact that things continued to go well after Jones left is also the sign of a good manager, someone who if he is not around the wheels don't come off and everything go to pot. I'm sure Jones must have been the major influence in setting up your club to be as successful as you are. His task at Stoke is mammoth. A club on a downward slide like Stoke has massive morale issues and gets deeply embedded in blame culture. We have not seen the new manager bounce with Jones, Hughes management team made a pig's ear of things, Lambert and Rowett were out of their depth trying to turn it round, in fact Rowett joined in the blame culture in the end, despite having had all summer, lots of signings, and a pre-season. Jones is going to have to work very hard, particularly as there are still senior managers in the club who have presided over the demise and will have skeletons in their cupboards. Not sure why you call him a self-righteous prick, he strikes me he talks from the heart. He clearly needs to sort out a lot more before he can get the team playing the way he wants. That is going to take time and he is going to need all the support from his faith to get him through it. If he can find more players like Batth, he'll do alright. Good luck to Luton.

One problem (every year apparently) Stoke never go out and out to get targeted players. We always try and negotiate to get the best deals.. That's fine, but other teams then come in and guzump us.. So then we end up with second choice targets.

I hate to say this because I hated it when we were in the PL and it worked against us but 1 Stoke are a bigger club. 2 We can pay 3/4 times more wages than Luton and money talks
