Ok I’m glad he has said that at least especially about scoring goals.
I will be patient and give him time but that was negative dross out there tonight

Great to see the fans all behind him at the end.
Poor performance. But I believe if the fans can stay together, he will take us places with a bit of time.

Doesn't sound pleased at all I'm glad he wasn't pleased - it was shite. Players collecting fortunes in wages but not earning it. Giving the ball away too easily, misplaced passes - easy passes. At least he recognises that it wasn't good enough

As do I, I really hope so as well because there's a couple of posters on here who best go into oatcake hibernation the amount of grief they're going to get when it all starts to click. It's good to see actual fans are behind the man and not calling for his head after a handful of games with a inherited, awfully unbalanced squad.

I stayed behind just to watch the mental twat beat his chest and celebrate another 0-0 where we didn't have a shot at goal. It was the highlight of another night of watching absolute dross.

If he wants to be more proactive than that why bring on Williams for Charlie?

If he wants to be more proactive than that why bring on Williams for Charlie? It is this isn’t it. Yes our midfield was woeful tonight but he could have picked a more proactive and attacking side. He could have brought on a player who might at least try to go forwards with the ball. Still like him, still back him, still hopeful but got no sympathy for him whatsoever tonight.

If he wants to be more proactive than that why bring on Williams for Charlie? Adam was knackered Sorrenson is injured so his midfield choices were Fletcher or Williams No other midfield choices left. I'd assume Jones will be signing at least one midfielder this summer.

He couldn't have brought on such a player to play central midfield as we don't have one. Verlinden and Bojan can 'play' but not in that position. He can't bring on what he doesn't have.

If he wants to be more proactive than that why bring on Williams for Charlie? Charlie was shite tonight mate and if he isn’t able to pick out the 40 yard passes he is a liability. What shocked me more tonight was how tired and sloppy joe allen looked.

Not happy I'm delighted he is not happy because it was absolute shite....and basically thats what he would have said if he didn't need to motivate the players to play out this season Can we please start with a brand new midfield because that is our main problem area and they are all inept (apart from Etebo)

Could Allen not have been made to sit? Could we not have gone to a flatter midfield? Could he not have brought Woods off earlier brought someone other than Fletcher one? Does our defence really need so much extra support now they are, well, able to somewhat defend? Just my thoughts. I take the point but I do think he could be a bit more imaginative. To be honest I think Afobe coming off threw him as it did when Vokes went off the other week. I do not however understand why we have players like Bojan and Verlinden on the bench when we aren’t going to bring them on in a situation where we are struggling for creativity and we are not in a losing position.

He could have brought Verlinden on for MacLean or Ince but not for Adam and Charlie had to come off. He would have had to got 4231 if he brought Bojan on. Jones is an attacking manager currently choosing to play extreme defensive football. Why? Because he wants to have that defensive foundation first and because he doesn't trust his current set of players to play how he wants to. This is why changing managers mid season is a bit pants. Hopefully a returning Etebo and Vokes will see a modicum of attacking play at the weekend.

I feel sorry for those left on the bench not getting a chance when we see the same terrible performances from the likes of Woods, Ince and McClean (but at least he tries and he looks like he’s on the edge at the moment so I suppose it adds some excitement...is this the week he’ll start a fight with the entire opposition end etc).

I agree. We looked solid with 4 across midfield on Saturday so we could have started with 3 up front so we had a chance of holding the ball up front

Refreshing yet again, there's not a lot to dislike about him is there, honest about the game which makes a nice change, and manages to put his disappointment across without having to go after the player publically.
