Cut n paste the story v QPR, really - same strengths, same weaknesses. We're getting more solid game on game and that's great to see, several outstanding defensive performances but we really are so limited moving forward - Nathan's doing it right building from the back, no arguments from me there, a good away point at Derby but up front, either we need a mass clearout of Rowett signings in the summer or for Jones to get us to a new place tactically.
7.5 from me

4.
A point is OK.
The nature in which we obtained the point was cowardly, boring and using the squad every inch as badly as Rowett did.
Very very poor.

6 another clean sheet but nothing going forward. 6 games unbeaten but it seems like we're watching a re-run of Rowett ball. Gouranga.

I’m not seeing the progress I’m sorry. 11 games in and we are getting 10 men behind the ball and not being expansive or even trying to win the game in my opinion.
I do think shawcross and Batth look strong. But that’s it.
This squad is gonna need another 70m to get it right there’s no way he will be given it, no way. He’ll have to buy cheap and maybe get rid.
Wow. 22 shots on target in 11 games...
You know where the excitement is and it isn’t at Stoke!

7 for not losing against the team I hate the most. But it has to be said that our midfield was completely overrun first half and our front 3 wouldn't scare a lads n dad's side. Oh for even a Tyrese Campbell up front tonight would have caused more problems just about sums our strikers up. And nearly a captain calamity moment from Shawcross at the end. Earlier in the season and that would have been a goal

3 starters out one 1 injured after 15 mins. Derby are having a decent season and most importantly, they are energetic and stretch the midfield for 90 mins.
Subs were fine- he gambled on a new formation because the midfield were getting stretched. From that point we looked tighter (the purpose of the sub). Attacking wise we were feeding off scraps and unfortunately that means you need 1 or 2 players to show a bit of composure, nobody stepped up to the plate. A grind was the only way.

I thought he did ok so will go for a solid 7. Would personally like to have seen bojan start but there you go.
I would be more concerned about what the owners are going to do about the boardroom structure than what NJ is up to. NJ has steadied the ship and is creating a solid base on which to build on. He now needs proper talent in the transfer department to help him move forward. That is the real problem.

6, hamstrung with the players he can pick because of injury/suspension and hamstrung because of the players he can pick are mostly crap. Decent away point but the players were awful, some of the things they did were unforgivable, no look passing in dangerous areas

More draw(er)s than Ikea, but at least we look decent at the back.
Just need a front 6 to compliment our new found defensive stinginess.

It was never going to change straight away and it hasn’t but definitely look more solid and are beginning to give ourselves a platform to win matches at the very least. Some players aren’t good enough and that really does kill us but I believe he will get it right in the long run

* 8 for the result. Less 3 for the performance. Less another one for his negative subs and less one more for even considering Fletcher So that’s a 3 from me Very frustrating

7 from me too. Vokes, Afobe, Etebo and Clucas out although the latter is hardly a loss the others are.
Good point on reflection

Not the most inspiring display (to put it mildly) but a point away to a top 6 side is a good point for a side just below mid table. Like Rowett (and like most managers if we are honest) Jones has decided that the best way to get results for an underperforming side, is to sort the defence out. To his credit I think he has done this - his back 4 is now a decent unit. He hasn't yet got himself a title winning defence but I'm pretty confident that this defence will now stop us doing a Sunderland. Baath has been a good signing but I'd be happier if he had also managed to bring in a good attacking left back.
Obviously we have to be more critical of the midfield and attack - not just last night but in recent games. However, I'd be more concerned were it not for the fact that Etebo and Vokes were both out last night - those two would be in my first choice team every day of the week. I'm gutted we don't have quality replacements for either of them - and expect Jones is equally gutted about that. But a large squad packed with underperforming players on good wages means that scope to sort things out in a tricky January window were limited.
So - an uninspiring performance but we have to hope that Jones is continuing to assess which players can and should be part of his revolution next season.
7 from me.

I don't know if it's being supportive or gullible but I will take the position Mr Jones is implementing Football Manager and Team Construction 101 - which the first step is build from the back. For the amount of midfielders we have, why can't we find four that can sing a tune together?
It's still a long way to the top, but some of the basics are there.

These are Rowett's players, not our Nathan Jones', people need to remember that when criticising him. (even if I do find his sus frustrating) 6. What a load of bollox. Rowett had 1 window to turn round a squad that needed completely changing. He brought in some decent editions and it is that and Rowetts time in charge that in more than likely going to keep us up. He like NJ could not turn round the shambles that was left him in 1 window, it is going to take a long time and many changes in the setup of the club before we start seeing improvements. NJ has now had the same amount of windows as Rowett had, so he should be judged in exactly the same way as Rowett was, to blame Rowett for all our woes is just daft. I like NJ he has passion and connects with the fans and works his nads off, but his stats at the amount are alarming/appalling and we are in danger next year if he continues in the same vein. It is hypocrisy to say we need to give NJ time while saying Rowett did a poor job and it was right to get rid him, Rowett did better in his 1 window than NJ did in his and Rowetts results/performances/stats were miles better.

Afobe, Ince and McClean are our front 3 and the players Rowett wanted to sign. It has been proven we are severely lacking in attacking intent and quality... how is that not Rowett's fault? I blame Rowett because he spent a fortune on the players HE wanted. Jones has not had that money to spunk, the 2 players he has signed though are decent ones for where we are now.

Happy with a point against a good Derby team.
His hands are tied with the players he has at his disposal.
We look solid at the back.
