Too many tourists, not enough full-blooded committed fans.

I heard their own fans say on radio stations that they are bored of turning up week in week out at home and winning. They miss the close games. They'll never be a big club though.

Complacency and expectancy. Man City fans completely expect to beat Schalke so when they score it's completely expected and is greeted with apathy. It's an arrogance that's crept into modern football. We do it too, such as whenever we take the lead at home to someone we expect to beat we greet goals with half arsed cheers.

Spurs away when Whelan hit that goal. I was in a totally different part of the away end after the mental.

Toddy Orlygsson last minute winner at home to Sunderland, Kyle Lightbourne last minute winner at home to Portsmouth, John Dreyer's last minute equaliser at Turf Moor......

Mickey Thomas at Bradford, nightmatch, 1.0 down early on Peter Fox prevented a six or seven goal hammering with as fantastic display of shot stopping you will ever see. Can't remember who equalised near the end (1.1 in itself was a footballing travesty) only for Micky to score even later. Amazing mental not least because Thomas ran into the away end and joined in😀

Other than aguero goal, citeh fans would probably have to go back to the play off final years ago which says it all for them.

The Assaidi goal was my personal best mental.....
I've been involved in some mentals before, but when Assaidi swung that ball into the top corner in what was roughly the last kick of the match, against CHELSEA as well....who were probably thee top team at the time..... well, I just lost it!!!
And one of the best things about it, was the look on John Terry's face after it had gone in!!!

Steino's winner v Orient when we'd been a goal down with just a couple of minutes to go.
Then there was Assaidi!!!!!!!!! I celebrated like some sort of demented Dalek.
VAR will kill off mentals.

Stein scoring away at the Hawthorn's in 1993 in a 2-1 win was a memorable away day mental too. Sure we took about 4-5000 fans that day, the open away end terracing as it was then was rammed & rocking after another victory v WBA!

Yes that was my favourite too, and I think it was more like 6,000. Some big man literally threw me into the air when Steino scored and I lost my family for about 20 minutes. Another was Steino’s second against Man Utd when I lost a 2 litre bottle of limeade I had been hiding under my jacket.

Unfortunately mate, the rise of social media gives people the warped sense that everyone gives a shit about what's on their Facebook or Instagram, even more so for the narcissists amongst us.
Last time I recorded stuff at a match was the semi final and Wilko's testimonial, neither of which went online as they're personal memories. That and there's already thousands of the same videos with the same view of the same match.
The worst are the people that record their faces for their reactions and hot takes. It's fucking awful.

To have a proper mental you need to be standing. Agree, the powers above have taken the excitement out of the game, as soon as theres a possible upset, in comes the ref, if the ref misses hes always got VAR. You cant take your shirt off You cant chant certain words You cant have a beer in your seat You cant verbally abuse other players You cant have an opinion They have sapped the blood out of the game, it was more than just a football game in the past, it was letting your hair down for the day.

These days top flight games are played primarily for TV audiences. Despite what Sky and betting company ads would have you believe, you cant have a mental with your tea on your lap listening to Jamie Carragher.
