Is this the one on Amazon. I tried it, but found it plodding. I don’t mind waiting for the plot in a film, but I can’t be hanging around when there are series to be covered. There’s only so many 1970’s style shots of craft in space I can handle. That said, I know people who love it... 🚀

If you like sci-fi you will like "The Perdix Project" Stoke author Teddy Tunstall. It's not fantays sci-fi. It's a grounded sci-fi \ techno-thriller \ mystery thriller for lovers of logical deduction and deep thinking. It has lots of science and technology, but also a light romantic touch and an action-packed ending. In the Atlantic ocean, a Royal Navy missile test goes unexpectedly wrong. There are anomalies in the Bank of England's gold vault. A huge crash causes the abandonment of a Formula One race meeting, there are strange events at a golf club, the weights recorded at a boxing match weigh-in are disputed and wild rumours are spreading on the social media pages of weight-loss groups. Nigel Bretby is the only person to realise that there is a connection between these apparently unrelated events, but the explanation is too fantastic to be believed because, incredibly, it seems that the mysterious events are linked to a sudden shift in the orbit of the International Space Station and worldwide GPS problems. With hardly a clue to be seen, he needs every ounce of his ingenuity as he tracks down the secret that lies behind this mystery, and when he makes the shocking discovery that this, ultimately, presents a threat to the global order, the urgency makes him take drastic action. In the course of his investigation, he meets Myriam, a young woman with an ambition to become an investigative reporter and expose major scandals and wrongdoing. Myriam makes valuable discoveries that unearth further clues, and with their two brains working in tandem, they come up with some inspired and visionary deductions to move the investigation on and, eventually, track down the mystery device and the people behind it. When a mysterious stranger turns up with a story that Myriam finds suspicious, their investigation becomes more complicated in ways that cause Nigel to be worried about Myriam's safety – worries that turn out to be justified. Share in Nigel's sense of disbelief as he finds himself caving under the Peak District on the hunt for the cause of the shift in the orbit of the International Space Station. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07SJNP9S4You don't need a Kindle to read the novel. There is a link to download a free app that let's it be read on any device. You can read the whole of chapter one and a good bit of chapter two for free. See the "Look inside" link just above the photograph of the book cover. Regards, Teddy Tunstall

I shouldn't try to write without my glasses. That should have said -

Self-promotion - true, but sadly Rob, I don't have one of the big publishing houses promoting it, so self-promotion is my only option and I know that Stoke people will be keen to support a local writer. Three years of hard work went into writing it. I did lots of scientific research so that the fictional science is very plausible. Most of it is real science. It was priced at £4.99p, but for a limited period it is now at the special offer price of £1.99p. For less than the price of a pint, you can enjoy a few hours engrossed in an intriguing mystery with mind-expanding, sci-fi thought experiments, good, solid detective work and a James Bond-style action packed ending. "The Perdix Project" by Teddy Tunstall www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07SJNP9S4My next one, "The Adventures of Jasper Spode", is a crime thriller set in the world of antiques dealing and it is packed with Stoke and North Staffs references - some obvious, some hidden, some cryptic and some very obscure. You will need to be very knowledgeable about the local area to get them all. Best wishes, Teddy.

That's very kind Rob. As an unknown author, it is very hard to get any sales, so every one is valued. Thanks a lot.
Some it is very heavy on science. I thought I was being clever and writing for fans of real hard sci-fi, but now I think I overdid it.
If chapters three and four get too intensely technological, just jump forward to chapter five when it lightens up on science and turns into a crime thriller full of clues, red herrings, deduction, suspense and danger with a few touches of humour, light romance and a James Bond-style action packed ending.
Once again, every sale is appreciated, so thank you, Teddy.
