Totally agree. Tipping point. Reckon I would do ok on that. The Chase. Love it some times do well, but not always. Pointless. Rubbish. Turn over at the end of the chase as the answers come on. Guess the question😁 ?

Not keen on Tenable or Tipping Point really, but I prefer The Chase, and like you I absolutely detest Pointless.
I also really like Eggheads, but Jeremy Vine as question master just about stretches my patience to the limit.
Although not a tea time quiz I prefer Mastermind overall.

I avoid the tea-time quizzes and prefer the more upmarket "dinner quizzes", favourite among which is Only Connect with the voluptuous Victoria Coren Mitchell. Delightful with a bowl of hot Spotted Dick and custard. Mastermind is still the king of quiz shows (where else are you a contender not a contestant?) though I'm not keen on the new walk-on format. I used to like University Challenge with my after-dinner coffee and mints, but honestly some of those Mensa level kids started freaking me out with their weird ways and I could put up with it no longer.
I've been enjoying Who Wants To Be A Millionaire this week with Jeremy Clarkson. Great with a lapful of fish and chips.

Not teatime but I really like jeremy Clarkson hosting Millionaire. Quite like Pointless then avoid the news like the plague by watching Eggheads and Michael Portillos Railway adventures. Detest the one show with avengeance so been watching the RNLI saving lives at sea. Mind you some of the stuff those coxswains do makes my hair stand on end as a qualified small boat coxswain........ Heroes one and all.

Hierarchy of quizzes:
1. University Challenge 2. Only Connect 3. The Chase 4. Mastermind
Millionaire's alright. Pointless and Eggheads piss me off. Tipping Point, despite being unrivalled shite, is still watchable for some reason.

How anyone can like Tipping Point is beyond me, it's complete dross and soundtracked by Ben Shephard making orgasm noises.

Quiz shows are only good when they actually spend their time asking questions. Most of them are shit as they spend half the bastard show talking to the contestants about their mundane lives, we have to listen to their 'hilarious' little story they want to share, and then bore us with what they'll do with the money if they win (And every fucking one of them says the oh-so-original "Go on holiday") Just get on with asking the bastard questions!

15 to 1 was the best tea time quiz with William G Stewart.

I was on Pointless a couple of years ago. Head to head both times, done over by a guess by the opposition on one show and a question on vicars the next. Darn. Didn't help that I was reading Marvellous on the train and on the way back, 2 pages on from where I'd stopped reading on the way down, was a Vicar answer that would have seen us through to the prize money. Hey ho. That's all a bit of waffle though.
the point of me posting is to say how cold and stand-offish Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman were. No chat before/after the shows, we weren't even allowed to take photos of us/them. Hadn't seen either of them all day prior to filming and, when we were outside the studios waiting to be called in, they both waltzed straight past us all without even glancing at us. Neither spoke to any of the crew either.
Compare and contrast with Bradley Walsh. He was filming The Chase in the studio next door. On his way to the studio, he stopped and chatted with all the Pointless crew. Bearing in mind that it was a show not only on another tv channel, it was a completely different production company. Yet he knew all the Pointless crew by their first names, hugged them all. Stopped and had photos taken with all us Pointless contestants, wished us all luck. He couldn't have been nicer and we weren't even on his show. I can't speak highly enough of him.

I was on Who Wants to be a Millionaire around 2004. Chris Tarrant didn't bother at all with the contestants and only appeared for around 5 to 10 minutes right at the end of rehearsal. He very quickly went through one question with each of us in the chair and then he was gone. No social chat or anything. It was the same after the show, he just said goodbye immediately after the end of the show and then disappeared out of the studio. The overall experience was very disappointing (I didn't get through the buzzer question either). It was very long and drawn out with loads of retakes when Tarrant got his lines wrong.

Bradders seems like a good egg. Would have a bevvy with him. Indeed, same here. In fact I think Bradders had had one or two the night before. He was rather bleary eyed.
Seems like a few of us have been on quiz shows. Anyone ever won anything? I failed on Pointless (although I did get the kudos of getting a pointless answer at least).
As per D, my experience was exceedingly long & drawn out. Had to be at the studios at 7.30am, I think, & they didn't even start filming until 5pm. Tedious in the extreme and I must have smoked a carton of cigarettes I was that nervous all day. The spotlights in the studio were blinding too, like being in the chair on Mastermind. Not a pleasant day at all, although it was worth it just to meet Bradders.

YouTube or it didn’t happen. 😉 I'm definitely not looking for any clips. Seeing myself would be far too traumatic. I've not even watched the shows since they were recorded. Probably out there somewhere if you desperately wanted to look for them. series 17, episodes 30 + 31. Here's a link to the transcript of the first show in case you're having difficulty getting to sleep. It's really dull. I'm Sean from Leeds. subsaga.com/bbc/entertainment/pointless/series-17/episode-30.html
