A day to celebrate male privilege. Deaths in battle Men 97.7% Women 2.3% Homeless Men 62% Women 38% Suicides Men 77.9% Women 22.1% Murder victims Men 77.4% Women 22.6% Workplace deaths Men 93% Women 7% Graduates Men 40% Women 60% Winners of custody Men 17.8% Women 82.2% Free to be ridiculed in adverts and movies. Considered evil predators by default. It's great. Nobel Peace Prizes between 1901 and 2015 Men 825 Women 49 Organisations 26 That's 5.6% for women. In Physics its 1%, although I think credit should be given where credit is earned, women have been abused for 100's of years, so something had to change.

I would imagine that over the last 10 years it's been equal.
Do you have any thoughts on the above statistics or are they acceptable to you. Should politicians and presenters be highlighting injustices for men as well as women?
Anecdotally I was listening to a male and female presenter talking about a husband and wife rift last week. The male presenter (assuming custody would go to the woman) said that the woman might think about staying in the relationship for economic reasons whilst the female presenter (assuming that the woman would het custody) said that the man would have to provide financially for his children. Neither of them had any comprehension of equality and shared custody.

Absolutely, if a woman gets a job or gets custody just because she's a woman then in my view it is wrong. I'm all for equal rights, so long as you don't take away what's natural. Are we still allowed to say Husband and Wife?

Who would have thought a forum for football fans would oppose such a day. 😂

Who would have thought a forum for football fans would oppose such a day. 😂 There's a reasonable variation of thoughts on the subject on here. It's hardly being opposed more discussed with a few jokes thrown in I would have thought. The reason it's worthy of discussion on the General Discussion Board is because we're being fed a diet of all things woman on this day by every media outlet going. My own feeling is that we've probably reached equality with the few outstanding issues for women, board representation, etc being sorted out over time. To pursue "equality" ad infinite will make the matter unequal in the other way.
There's no great discussion out there on the inequality in nursing, primary school teaching, etc. I spoke to an educationalist some time back who said that if you asked young boys who was more intelligent, men or women, they would tell you women because women are teachers. Custody is a particular bugbear of mine with the ridicule of organisations like Fathers for Justice and the general attitude of female acquaintances that they are the more important parent. There is a discussion to be had and you're probably getting a more male perspective because of the make up of the board. I wish there were more women posting on the board as much as I wish there were more young people posting on the board but alas that's not the case.

Couldn’t give a toss as long as I don’t have to watch them attempt to play football There are a lot of teams playing in the FA Women's Super League that would beat our first team. Australia’s women’s team lost 3-0 to an U16’s boys team The sports are completely different, the women’s teams would be nowhere near the football league

We might be bad but Christ on a bike these top women’s teams would struggle to give Stafford Rangers a decent game The standard is not up to that of the men's game but it's unfair to compare the two as they're ostensibly different sports. I take it that you watch a lot of women's football then? If you did you'd recognise that there is quite a level of skill at the top of the game. The only issue I have with women's football is with the standard of goalkeeping. Yes, the physicality is different and therefore will affect things such as athleticism but there's no excuse for piss-poor positioning, anticipation, handling and decision making. The beauty of football is it doesn't matter what level you're watching: Premier League, Championship, Division 7 something ... the World Cup, Women playing, youngsters playing, kids aged 5 ... dogs ... It's still exciting. Always a thriller. ⚽ A round thing filled with air, the greatest invention ever
