Surprised Franny Lee hasn't had a mention (unless I missed it), cheating twat, I swear he invented diving. Either him or that horrible little tawt Kenny Burns. He could dive from the dressing rooms & land in the penalty box.

I fucking hated Darren Caskey and Steve McMahon. So much so that when McMahon was linked with us manager I'd have stopped going. Didn't McMahon break the leg of some foreign wonderkid we had vs Swindon, ending his career? Either way he wasn't much liked by many teams. I'm sure Ian Wright said something a while ago about deliberately groining him in revenge for a bad tackle.

Have to say I utterly detest Geoff Hurst. Why? He's smug, a completely horrible person ( from experience), charges charities a fortune for personal appearances and lived on the back of 66 and not a good word to say about modern day players. Actually picked himself once in an all time best 11. Oh, let's not forget the Stan Matthews statue.

Never really met him or spoke to him unlike most of the other 70's teams (mainly up the Place on a Saturday night ).

I think he has the record of the worst Chelsea manager of all time then somehow got a coaching job with England blaming players for his lack of results. He asked for 10k to unveil the Matthews statue, Keegan refused to take money and even paid his own expenses

I thought that the Paddock were going to eat him alive that night. Just launched the ball into a lad if I remember correctly, and their was more than one member of The Paddock who were going to exchange pleasantries him. It would have been like Baxters Butchers before opening if they managed to get their hands on him. I remember the paddock incident very well, I was sat on the wall with a load of other young kids including my sister. The ball went out for a throw and somebody in the paddock threw it back at Speedie, he turned and blasted the ball straight in to my sisters chest, I was only 7 at the time she was 10 and i have never seen my Dad as angry since.

He looked something else on his brief first spell with us. Still decent but far from the same player in his second spell. Not sure if he didn't settle in over here or just wasn't up to the physical game any more.
Didn't end his career (now memory has kicked in that he did come back to us) but perhaps put a stop to what could have been a brilliant career.
Anyway, McMahon is still a cnut.

He went, quite rightly, apeshit. Did Speedie or Albion offer any kind of apology? My recollection is Speedie was shitting himself as he realised he could get lynched.

Went to Bristol City on trial then back to us. Wasn't a bad player and had scored on his debut think it was v Bristol City and looked a real prospect before his injury

For the old-timers, Peter Storey (Arsenal), and Billy Bremner and Johnny Giles (both of Leeds) were the dirtiest players I have ever seen, and total scumbags to boot.
