If you're not renewing, please provide your reasons why. I know that people at the club are interested,as they're not selling as quickly as they would have liked. I'm not renewing, as my son has lost all interest and we're no longer enjoying the match day experience. This is mainly down to fans constantly slating players. I think we have a new breed of supporter that I no longer want to be a part of.

I have renewed, but I'd just like to go on record and say it's because I'm absolutely fucking braindead.

It's all been a bit grim. We used to stand and sing through anything now there's been booing (which I can understand) but it's been silence at the times that has been deafening. Freaks me out more than the booing if I'm honest. I am renewing, on the last day of the early bird window, my minor and futile protest!

This debate is getting on me tits now. Football fans love moaning at the match. Period. For most clubs, most of the time, the football isnāt great. Crap games generally outweigh good games.
If I waited until I thought everything would be harmonious until I went the match, Iād never end up going.
If you donāt want to go, donāt go. Fair doās.
Just dunna keep bleating on about it!

Their expectations are absurdly high and the hatred towards some of our players is quite frankly disgusting.

I know that clubs do the renewal around this time of year so they are clear around finance for the forthcoming season in plenty of time. However, unless you are in the promotion mix itās always a rubbish time to renew and is worse if relegation is on offer as per last year. Despite what happens in a poor season, I always feel optimistic in the summer when the season has long since finished and the opening fixture is still a good month away....itās like you are so desperate for the fix, despite knowing had bad its just been, but you canāt help yourself and feel more positive. So, if finances and administration of the scheme werenāt the issue that they of course need to be, i wonder how many more renewals there would be if it was done in that summer ācold turkeyā period. Itās a bit like it being easier to sell a soft top car on a sunny day than in minus five and pissing it down conditions.

Decent lads who didnāt deserve it. Footy fans are a strange bunch in general! Stokies are no different.

Their expectations are absurdly high and the hatred towards some of our players is quite frankly disgusting. Familiarity breeds contempt. Thereās a new breed who havenāt suffered in the wilderness like some of us, as teen I thought my greatest moment as a stoke fan was going to be watching Paul ware smashing in the winner take us Wembley ( yes ok know we won but I wouldnāt be a stoke fan without doubting). As a 20 something I thought it was going be Gudjon taking us up after the drama of Cardiff away, then along comes Pulis in my thirties and bores the fuck out of us gets fucked off and then takes us to the promised land and keeps us there. My sons have no memory of stoke playing in anything other than the premier league they have been more European games than championship fixtures š®. Our fan base at least doubled in the prem years as we clawed a few glory hunters away and some locals took more interest. We now have to deal with the fallout from relegation but Iām still renewing

Iām renewing because itās what I do
But thereās obviously going to be a lot who wont and itās hardly rocket science to know why We gained 10000 when we were promoted to the Premier League Weāre not there anymore and as of today it doesnāt look like an imenent return Plus even the most diehards like me have to admit the match day experience for the past two years as been dire Iām just hoping the NJ experiment will succeed.

I've been going for decades and cannot remember so much hatred and verbal abuse aimed towards our own players. I quite frankly find it embarrassing.

I will be renewing my ticket once again. I am not renewing Grandsons ticket. He has fell in love with Rugby. Plus the fans that sit around us do nothing but moan. I moved from the Boothen End two years ago too the family stand. It is just as bad there. So i am moving to the big stand. Hopefully it is full of silent supporters...š

10 years of relative success is bound to cause a change in supporter expectations, but I don't think in reality we're any worse than other club's fans when it comes to moaning. Leeds were a shambles of a club before Bielsa turned them around, and from what my mates tell me it was virtually the same as Stoke this year. Same when I sat in the Forest end this year when we played there. A couple of boo boys, fan favourites....ridiculous bias.
I don't think this is a new phenomenon either, I remember Bjarni getting some absolutely dire abuse from fans back in the day. It might be slightly enhanced as I said because of the last 10 years, but I don't think it's been a seismic shift by any means.

I enjoyed the article in Saturdayās Oatie about disappointing seasons where expectations were high (75/76, 89/90, 98/99 and this season). Thatās been a big factor in the discontent Iām sure. This season has been wank, thereās no debate on that. But itās been hard to realign expectations so quickly for a lot of fans (myself included). Time is the great leveller with that though, itās been more of a flashpoint this season as the fall from grace has seemed so abrupt. (Whether it has actually been abrupt or not is another can of worms entirely!) The realisation that we are where we are, and the fledgling shoots of recovery shown by Nathan will calm everything down a bit Iām sure. It should be an exciting new chapter

Itās a bit like it being easier to sell a soft top car on a sunny day than in minus five and pissing it down conditions. Thatās the best way to shop for the savvy individual! I bought three pairs of cracking swim shorts at a knock down price last year on the day when the beast from the east hit us. I popped them in a drawer for a few months, then felt extra smug whilst sauntering around Longton in them, eating Calippos in thirty degree heat whilst England were in the semi-finals of the World Cup. Halcyon days! I wore them last wik too when we had the ridiculous February heatwave š
