Although that’s what’s reported I’ve heard from a reliable source that Butland as well as Allen, Shawcross and Bauer are all on their premier league money. Hence they are the ones the clubs wants to get rid of in the summer... I heard exactly the same mate. These four all had a new deal in the summer protecting their Premier League wages for 12 months. I suspect these are the ones Nixon is referring to for the second wave of cuts this summer, rather than Rowetts signings, and I suspect at least 3 will be on their bikes. Jack and Joe to Mid Prem teams (Leicester) and Bauer abroad. I'm not sure Ryan will get many takers prepared to pay him more than he'll be on even after a 50% pay cut here.

Due to the fantastic commitment of the owners , I’m not sure the actual numbers are the primary issue as opposed to managing the FFP regulations , Led to believe £39m is the maximum permitted loss so we are going to need some clever accounting over the next two years . Wow Throughout our entire period in the Premier League you were whinging your bag off about us not spending money like we were playing the game on a monopoly board rather than in the real world and all of a sudden you're the voice of financial probity. Just wow.

If you bothered to follow the logic I said at the time as was proved right the sudden knee jerk to sustainability and two summers as the lowest net investors v our peer group would cost us dearly and so if did , undoing the years of investment that had gone before it . In addition the appalling. Execution.) We signed Wilmer palace sakho Amd Leicester McGuire , we signed Jesse West Ham arnie , we signed fletcher Leicester Maddison ) we signed us Beene Bournemouth going to be’s Of the funds we did invest made matters worse . I’ve never been anything but supportive of the owners commitment and indeed I was saying it’s unlikely that will change and the therefore financial fair play not willingness to support is the bear trap . Absolutely consistent logic .

Wolves lost over £4m a month last season. Although that’s what’s reported I’ve heard from a reliable source that Butland as well as Allen, Shawcross and Bauer are all on their premier league money. Hence they are the ones the clubs wants to get rid of in the summer... I remember Allen and Shawcross being kept on Premier League wages, plus another I'm not sure whether was Bauer or Butland, so maybe it's both. Or just Bauer...

I’ve also heard rumour, and I stress rumour that it’s these four who are the main cause of friction in the squad. The other prem players are supposedly livid they got their wages back, and that one in particular is especially disliked for the way he is flashing his “extra” money around. I heard more but it’s quite specific family stuff that in my opinion doesn’t belong on a public forum. I always thought it was bad business rewarding failure, but accepted we needed to retain a core of the Prem players, I never considered the effect rewarding the four of them could potentially have on squad morale.

Wolves lost over £4m a month last season. As did Villa, it's been revealed this morning.

It’s ever likely he was crying his eyes out when we got relegated if his money was getting halved.

Yes FM, we must be losing a lot more than that I would imagine? We're on less than 55% of last years revenue but we've only really shifted Shaqiri and Crouch of any major consequence off the wage bill. We're subbing the wages of high salary loan players like Imbula, Ndiaye and Wimmer. Mean time we shot £65 million on Ince, Afobe, Clucas, Baart, Vokes and Woods while adding them to a burgeoning wage bill. Next season parachute payments are 45% and then 20% and then gone. To add some context to that average media rights revenue in the Championship is £6m for the season. We do really need to escape from the financial hell hole of the Championship or completely downscale the operation. We don't seem able to do either. If all the Prem contracts had 50% cuts, we should be in reasonable shape. But it's going to be get bumpier if the Coates family really want to have a go in the summer. Once the parachute money goes, every non-promotion season is like a hefty kick to the balls! When does FFP come into the picture?
