From the side on Saturday I would keep
Butland ( he will probably want out but if he wanted to stay I would keep him). Edwards Shawcross Bath Indi Allen Clucas Adam Afobe
Federici Bauer Woods
Add
Etebo Vokes All the under 23 / academy
Everybody else let go.
But
2 left back. Centre Half Holding midfield to give woods competition 2 number 10 1 striker to give afobe and Campbell competition.
I don’t think Jones will want a complete clear out, he has said 20 outfielders ( 2 for each position )

Until we get a Director of Football in who is on the same page as the manager we will continue to struggle.. We could scrap the director of football role all together or maybe even employee a chief scout who has a network of scouts to look at the players the manager is keen on and has significantly more experience than Cartwright could ever wish for. Take Steve Walsh as an example he scouted Jamie Vardy, N'golo Kante and Riyad Mahrez for Leicester and Zola and drogba for Chelsea only down side really is he was at Everton and his job was reported under pressure when they spent £150m one summer so that could potentially be a concern for any club.

Not necessarily what I want, but I predict 6 outs and 3 ins.
Nathan Jones and the rest will improve the team for the rest of the season, will miss the playoffs, but therefore think the numbers above will do. Hopefully they're right.
Personally I would keep:
Butland, gk Edwards, def Etebo, mf Ince, mf Bojan, mf/fw Campbell, fw
Possibly kept:
Federici, gk Bauer, def Batth, def Sörensen, mf Woods, mf Verlinden, mf Imbula, mf Vokes, fw Afobe, fw
Sold/Returned/Whatever:
Haugaard, gk Shawcross, def Wimmer, def Martins-Indi, def Tymon, def Williams, def Clucas, mf Allen, mf McClean, mf Fletcher, mf Adams, mf Berahino, fw Diouf, fw

So would think he'd be one of the ones who'd be reasonably easy to shift. He's not on his initial bumper Bosman contract either, and will presumably have suffered a hefty cut to his salary on relegation too? 2019 (Williams) Haugaard Adam Fletcher
2020 Federici Pieters Cameron Bojan Diouf
2021 Butland Shawcross Imbula
2022 Bauer Edwards BMI Souttar Tymon Wimmer McClean Ndiaye Allen Clucas Berahino Ince Vokes Batth Verlinden Ngoy
2023 Etebo Sorensen Unknown expiryAfobe (22/23?) Woods (22/23?) Campbell

I simply can't understand the fact the person who gave Wimmer a contract until 2022 - is still in a job.
How?

Yeah, think his initial Bosman deal was said to be something silly like that because he was on a free. But he signed his new deal in September 2017 during his strange wing-back phase after a period of being in and out of the team. Total speculation what he's on now, but can't see him being on anything like that, and that may have been reduced further on relegation.

When you think we could have got a Lewis Dunk for half of what we paid for that useless parasite,it highlights the incompetence of the transfer team. And the arrogance of Hughes not to look in the Championship where ther are a plethora of quality young centre backs.

I simply can't understand the fact the person who gave Wimmer a contract until 2022 - is still in a job. How? Hughes wanted the player he got sacked Scholes negotiated the fee and the contract As it was such a large fee 😫 Stoke had to spread the cost over a longer contact. So the primary issue was manager poor judgement and ridiculous fee. Had we paid £6m for him he would have been on a three year contract. So next time we are in a position to pay large fees we hat to be much much better at getting the right players in. Will always be duds, every club had them, but we had far too many. Wimmer, Imbula and Berahino. If two were successful you could live with one bombing. If one was successful it would be painful. All three is appalling.

The key is performance not wages, we will be a poorer squad without Allen , Butland , Adam , etc , but not Imbula , ndyae , Berahino , another true test of ambition is due this summer and Jones success will be determined by the approach of the CEO & co
