Very disappointing but that might be getting use it and its style again. The program before it 'Warren' was brilliant though and to follow that may have made it seem worse than it was. Opinions eh, I thought that was toss as well It's a funny thing, comedy.

It wasn’t the best and I don’t get the five star reviews but the good thing about Partridge as a character and this format in particular, is it’s kind of meant to be shit. The way they’ve marketed it, Coogan can still take the character wherever he likes after ‘his disastrous return to the BBC.’

I remember them thinking of pulling the plug on only fools and horses after a poor start So, with that in mind I'll give it a bit longer Very mixed for me Alan partridge is one of my favourite characters...Steve cougan is a very good actor. But i think Steve cougan as a guy is a horrible twat Ferranti mk1, ??

I enjoyed it. It’s the little nuances I liked. Like when he blew his nose and then just chucked it on the ground - it tickled me. Lynnes cameo was “textbook”.

It's funny. Wasn't expecting much but if you like Partridge, it's worth viewing. You can only judge a TV program on whether you will watch another episode of it and I will with this. It's not groundbreaking but it is funny. For a character that is coming up to 30 yers old, it ain't too bad.

I thought it was quite funny when the co-presenter pinched his line, but then again I am a fan. Wasn’t the best though.

Middle-aged, middle Englanders not getting Partridge, now that is surprising. Stick to The Grand Tour and being 'homosceptic' lads Bang on. It like my mate said when we were kids, “If you think Joy Division are depressing you just don’t get’em”

Its got 5 stars in the Guardian too - very rare. I'm not sure why, I was very unimpressed and I'm a big Partridge fan. Very disappointing. Because Coogan is a big fuck off remainer. I like AP but that was shit last night Coogan may be a remainer, but AP is a Brexitier

I was wanting to like it, but I just found it all a bit …. samey. I felt similarly about the 3 new episodes of The League of Gentlemen last year; I thought the original series 1 and 2 (and the radio show before that, and their live stage show) were works of genius, but recently they just seemed to have got a bit lazy and to have been re-heating the same jokes.

Poor I thought, the surrounding characters weren't strong enough. And only a brief cameo from his secretary. Also no geordie fellow who was good for a laugh. A tepid offering overall. As others have said this character has had its day.

I didn't see the first one but tonight's episode may well be the funniest thing I have ever seen.
As someone said above, utterly sublime, there is no other word for it.

I need to watch last weeks again as it all felt too quick and as another poster said you need to watch it more than once to get the nuances. Today's was a little predicatible at the end with his perceived 'rival' but he does still make me laugh which is a good thing! Don't pull any punches! He's well known for not doing anecdotes well! Now fuck off!

It was a lot funnier this week. I was cracking up when he interviewed that bloke from Sunderland.
Great writing at the end as well: 'Sure as in put your reputation on the line or sure like when the mini-cab operator says she's "sure" you're taxi's five minutes away.'

Coogan's biggest mistake is not continuing to age the character as he was in I'm Alan Partridge season 2.
Instead he's stuck in the mid-life crisis loop, which is funny, but generally degrades after so many series.
