No doubt will lay out the red carpet for her. If you’ve served your country and got PTSD, well you’re on your own shipmate. I’ve detected real genuine anger about this, and other things, that may well provoke some kind of reaction.

I am a liberal-minded, moderate left-of-centre, feminist and anti-racist Guardian reader. But anyone who has joined ISIS and supported their murderous, intolerant ways, even in a relatively passive manner like most female members, can stay there. They should be stripped of their citizenship and let the Kurds decide what happens about their human rights.
19-year old woman or not, how do we know that she hasn’t learned skills in bomb making, radical propaganda-making, and subversion that make her an excellent Trojan horse? She has probably been trained to withstand interrogation and might well persuade our authorities that she is harmless. Like fuck she is.

If she puts one foot on our soil, she should be greeted with a bullet to the head, the bitch.
She made a choice and she should rot in hell for that choice.
It's about time, we as a nation, stopped being so tolerant to this shit, and tell her to fuck off and stay there with her islamic converted Dutch husband. I bet Holland won't be rushing to let him come back.

It will be years of appeals and protests by radical Islamists. It took nearly ten years to get rid of Abu Hamza, a proven radical and recruiter of terrorists. The well of sympathy for a teenage mother will make her very hard to dislodge.

No doubt she will return on humanitarian grounds, have her child on our NHS service Be questioned by the police but will be released without charge, then be given a lovely new pad with 24hr protection at the tax payers cost and live a wonderful life. All because the government will be thinking they can use her for intelligence

I understand the reaction, my first response was 'get fucked' but are we entirely sure that no radicalisation has taken place here. Its not an at all natural thing for any girl of any age to do.

Can not believe that the do Gooders inc politicians are leaning towards let her back and all this she was only a child crap.
The bitch bought two children into this world and then allowed them to die in mysery because of the environment she inflicted on them. NEGLIGENCE OF LACK OF CARE is an offence in this country, unlike the muderous hell hole she chose to live and shag in. A19 year old on her third child who accepts that beheaded heads of fellow human beings in a bin is acceptable.!!
Of course she is going to deny any knowledge of the executions, she is not daft. How the hell can you say “ Oh there are some heads in the bin. That’s OK they were enemy’s Of Islam but I don’t know how they got there.?
Rather than let her back to the relative luxury of a British Gaol, let her stay in her chosen hell and the Kurds can decide her fate.
Let this bitch back in and I have had enough.

No one is forgiving any of these crimes, certainly not me but are we entirely sure she hasn't been radicalized? It's like these cunts who blow up tube trains, may they rot in hell but it's not a normal thing for a 20 year old youth from Luton to want do? I fear that those ultimately responsible are nowhere near the front line of any conflict or strapping incendiaries on themselves in a railway bog. There's much, much more to this, Ray.

I suppose you are right. Very unpopular perhaps but Personally I would delay the vote until even later in life, 24, 28, 30( 85😌).... seriously though I work with 18 to 25 year olds and I don't believe ( in general) that they do have enough experience in life to have a " meaningful vote" .... it's just a matter of judgement but I think that most people would think that 9, 10, 11 etc is too young so why go for the earliest possible date. .....I do think that they are easily influenced, as I was. I did not really have a concept of history until I was 30. Also I would like to think that is older ones base some of our decions about the future on what we think is best for our children, certainly my children are the most important thing to me. I think 16 is too young to vote and too young to decide to support ISIS.

It's not often I totally disagree with you Big John but I do on this one (but as usual I'm almost certainly in the minority! ). The State can't have it both ways, If you can go through the formal state registered and legal process of Marriage, if you can have Children and most importantly you can pay Tax, then to me you are most certainly at the age of majority. I think it is actually atrocious to deny people in these circumstances the vote and have their elders inflict democracy on them. Having said that, I'm becoming an old git and I share some of your concerns about the youth of today etc. but realistically I know just as many 26 and 36 year old boneheads as I do 16 year old ones!

If she does get back in, which should never happen, you can guarantee she'll get a hero's welcome in the part of East London she's from.
There's probably more ISIS supporters there than there are in Syria.

I can see what you mean entirely. How many actually do pay a significant amount in tax at 16 is I would have thought minimal and in effect we have extended school leaving age until 18 , perhaps 21 ( for Political / ( in)employment reasons in my opinion). And even though they can I think that few do get married at 16 and in many cases I would argue that it is pretty unwise to make such decisions for life at an early age. ( Is the legal age for drinking in America 21?edit: it's for purchasing alcohol) I can't remember). I think that it could be reasonable to have different ages at which people are legally allowed to do different things... I just base it also on some of my experience and I would certainly say that I was more impressionable when I was younger......but I guess that you could argue that you become more cynical when you are older and less idealistic... which may not always be a good thing..... I know that you want a fairer society, the question is how to get there.

I'm sure she didn't just get up one morning, worry about the spots on her adolescent face and say I don't fancy school today I'm joining some barbaric head chopping freakish cult 2000 miles away. It just doesn't make sense. She may be a malevolent and criminal moral vacuum, nutjob but there's surely more at work here isn't there?

I hope to see you showing empathy with right wing terrorists soon?

Isn't she the one whose father took her on a jihadist march burning flags ? I'm not showing empathy with anyone, it was her complete denial, lack of self awareness and arrogance today that got me thinking, she may, just may, not definitely, be a bit of a puppet in this and more focus should be put on how and exactly why kids are doing this evil fucking shit.

I hope to see you showing empathy with right wing terrorists soon? Exactly. There was enough information on TV through documentaries and news bulletins, and enough in the print media for even a 16 year old to realise that maybe going to join the holy jihad would not be that good an idea. It was not just an error of judgement born from naivety or immaturity. By all accounts, they were intelligent girls. The only reason they went was out of a deep fundamentalist conviction and they were probably already radicalised enough to have made the decision in the first place. Their families can bleat all they want, but there are plenty of relatively innocent parents whose children commit horrific crimes, like murder, rape, or very serious assault, and these can come as a shock to all connected. But they still have to live with the consequences of the fact that their offspring are criminals.
